Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage is a 1994 beat 'em up video game for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, based on the comic book storyline where Carnage goes on a rampage, forcing Spider-Man and Venom to team up. Players fight through levels as either Spider-Man or Venom, using their unique web-slinging and combat abilities to stop Carnage and his allies, with the ability to switch between heroes at certain points. The game is known for its red cartridges (on SNES and Genesis) and its boss theme, an arrangement of Black Sabbath's "The Mob Rules”
