I had a really good time catching with my High School Class of 1976 and reconnecting with a classmate that I use to spend a lot of time with in the art room. 🎓 Now I’m in MN and we are waiting for baby girl to arrive. It’s nice to see my grandson loves his new construction backpack. 🎒

I’m one happy Grammy!! I finally finished sewing all the hexagon blocks together for my daughter’s baby quilt!! 160 Y-seams in this quilt top!! Yes, I counted!! I will be quilting this when I get back from a trip to see family in Iowa, attend my 50th HS class reunion and then on to MN for my granddaughter’s birth!! Also, I always enjoy watching our hummingbirds at the feeders.

Today’s view is more chain sewing on hexagons in my daughter’s baby quilt! It’s starting to come together and looking more like a quilt. Listening to the Eagles 🦅. My 50th High School Class Reunion is coming up in 2 weeks. So it prompted 1970’s music for a few weeks. Who in my HS class is planning to attend??

It’s a star block making day. ⭐️ These star blocks will be joining some quilt blocks my mom made and eventually become a quilt for someone special. 🪡🧵Sew a few star blocks here and a few star blocks there and pretty soon I will have enough made for the quilt!!!

The backpack for my grandson is all done!✅ Hopefully the Violet Backpack pattern by Knot + Thread Design will be just the right size for a 2 year old. As you can see baby #2 is on her way so the new project is a baby quilt for my first granddaughter. My daughter picked out the Honeycomb quilt pattern by Terracotta Quilts and a very pretty fat quarter bundle called Renew by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake Designs.

Here is an update on what I’ve been doing over the past month. I made a trip to MN to see my grandson and daughter. I took back a t-shirt quilt to repair for my son-in-law. I’m getting ready to make a toddler size Violet Backpack for my grandson because he will start pre-school in the fall. I found everything I needed in my stash which is the goal these days to use up what I have! ✅ And here he is again after his first haircut!!
