I’m back in my sewing room today. I decided to work on making more stars for a scrap quilt that I want to have done by the end of the year. I have 30 stars already cut so I will start with those and then I will need to cut more. I need 82 star blocks in total, these will alternate with some blocks my Mom made before she passed away. I’m also using the Bonnie Hunter method of sewing a second line when I add the star points. So I create an extra block I will use later. I finished making a bag for my daughter and I shipped it off along with her college volleyball T shirt quilt plus some books for my grandson. She sent me the sweetest photo of him with the quilt and books. I can’t wait to see him again in a few weeks!! ❤️❤️❤️

I finished sewing together Barn Star 14 by on Friday. The binding in this blue and white stripe. Going to have it ready for when my backing arrives. Then I’m sewing up this bag for my daughter. And… over the weekend I finished cutting up flannel shirts for the next There is always a quilting or sewing project in process over at Replay Quilts!😊

Yes! I started another red, white, and blue project. 🇺🇸 and this one is for me!! I’m going to hang it in my sewing room and it will fit where my Lone Star wall hanging is above the bed. Is anyone else in a red, white, and blue sewing mood??

🇺🇸 My red, white, and blue T-shirt quilt is all done! ✅ We decided to use a red piece of fleece I had in my stash for the back. It’s soft and quilted with a flannel fireworks printed design binding!! This one is going to my sister and I’m so glad it’s done in time for all those summer patriotic holidays. Happy Flag Day and Happy 250th Birthday USA! 🇺🇸

My stars are all made ⭐️ and my quilt top is sewn together! I’m ready for the next step of adding the back and quilting the top. This quilt is getting a pieced back made from my left over pieces of from I’m so proud of myself I only purchased one yard of flannel to add to this quilt. I threw in a few pieces into the quilt top and saved enough to cut the rest into my binding!! Woohoo!! This one is a win for cleaning out left overs found in my sewing closet. 🇺🇸 Also, real life here. First thing this morning I had to remove a brown spot my iron made yesterday when I was pressing seams. Ugh! 😩 Of course, it landed on one of the white squares!!! 🔴⚪️🔵

When you start to see all the red, white, and blue quilts in your social media feed and you get the urge to make one too!! 🇺🇸 Then you remember you have a stash of patriotic tees you have been hoarding. After all you spent $30.00 at Goodwill many years ago for these tees. ⭐️ I’m busy making stars today!⭐️ 🇺🇸

I’m so happy to finally have my daughter’s college volleyball T-shirt quilt done! ✅ She graduated 9 years ago from the University of Memphis so it’s time I got this one done. It includes one of her college volleyball jerseys, pre-season tournament tees and so much more. 60” wide x 85” long with a gray backing from Connecting Threads.

Shipped out another Volleyball T-shirt Quilt with a soft, black Floofy backing from It’s heading to a new home where it will be loved and cherished!

Over the weekend I finished adding the interfacing to the T-shirt backs on my daughter’s college volleyball T-shirt Quilt. Now I’m ready to sew the pieces together. 4 years of hard work both on and off the court are on display and I’m sure she will be happy I finally got this put together for her. 🧵🪡🧵 On a side note, quilt fabrics don’t always come from the quilt shop. 1. the tees and her jersey are from her college days at U of Memphis 2. the blue, gray and black plaid were flannel pants on a clearance rack in Kohl’s. Now they will become the perfect quilt binding and filler in this quilt. 3. the quilt label for the back is actually the embroidery on a pillowcase.
