I came across a piece by photographer Benjamin Vuilet and the lesson stayed with me

The strawberry wasn’t the absence of pain
It wasn’t proof that everything was okay

It was simply something sweet that still existed while everything wasn’t okay

And maybe that’s what gratitude really is

Not forcing ourselves to find a reason why something painful happened. Not pretending the hard parts don’t hurt. But refusing to let what hurts become the only thing we can see.

Sometimes your strawberry is big

Sometimes it’s your morning matcha
A song you needed to hear
Someone checking on you
A prayer that brought you peace
Five minutes where your mind finally became quiet

The strawberry doesn’t have to fix the day

It just has to remind you that there is still something good inside of it

So that’s what God taught me today:

No matter what kind of day I’m having, look for the strawberry blessing 🍓

And if today feels especially heavy, I hope you find yours

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but maybe this post was meant to find you.

Today God reminded me that being aware of something doesn’t mean I have to carry it.

For a long time, I thought protecting my peace meant removing myself from anything uncomfortable. But I’m learning that peace can also look like standing in the middle of something and choosing not to let it enter you.

Someone else’s anger doesn’t have to become mine.
Their fear doesn’t have to become my fear.
Their opinion doesn’t have to become my identity.
Their chaos doesn’t have to disturb what God is doing within me.

There is a difference between seeing and absorbing.

And maybe that’s part of discernment—learning to recognize what is happening around you without allowing everything around you to take residence within you.

I can listen without carrying it.
I can care without consuming it.
I can love without losing myself in it.

Some things are meant to be witnessed, prayed over, learned from… and released.

Today, I’m choosing to observe, not absorb.

Protect what God is cultivating inside of you. 🤍

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but maybe this post was meant to find you..

Today, God challenged the way I think about love

I’ve always associated love with a feeling. Something you fall into. Something you hope never fades

But today I realized love isn’t measured by how deeply someone says they feel

It’s measured by what they consistently choose to do

Love shows up
Love serves
Love protects
Love keeps its word
Love chooses humility over ego

And that’s not just true in marriage

It’s true in friendships
It’s true in families
It’s true in the way we treat strangers
It’s true in the communities we’re building every single day

Maybe that’s why some of us struggle to let go of certain people

We’ve mistaken someone’s words for their actions

Today I’m reminding myself to stop asking,

“What do they say they feel?”

…and start asking,

“What does their love produce?”

Does it bring peace?

Does it make me feel seen?

Does it reflect the kind of love God has shown me?

Because God’s love has never been proven by words alone.. It’s always been demonstrated through action
