Wow! What a long, strange trip it's been...Since I retired from teaching in January 2020, my path has led me to a variety of different adventures. I began with making travel pillows and embroidering sweatshirts as Christmas gifts. Then I was making and embroidering pillows and blankets, also for gifts. Next came the pandemic and I was making masks to donate to local nursing homes and doctors' offices. During all this, I was helping my husband, Gary Best, at Best Funeral Home and Pet Cremation. I began embroidering hats and shirts for local businesses (the funeral home included); embroidering ties, shirts, and hats for various Masonic bodies; making and personalizing masks; embroidering casket panels for funerals; embroidering shirts, jackets, and awards for the local fairs; making costumes for a Cardinal School's production; and now find myself making and embroidering bucket hats! During all this, I saw my daughter, Audrey Drago, graduating as a nurse from Kent State and off to the Navy (so proud!); watched my son grow into the intelligent, caring man he is today (currently attending Kent State Geauga...still can't believe my baby's a senior!); remained a loyal supporter of Chardon football( yes, I was there for the winning of the state title); cleaned, painted, scraped, and stained our new funeral home in Rock Creek; visited Virginia, Georgia, and Arizona; celebrated new births and accomplishments with friends and neighbors; refinished and reupholstered furniture; and now I'm ready for my next adventure!
Thank you to my husband for encouraging and supporting my retirement and all my new paths. I am including photos of my new accomplishments as well. Stay healthy and safe everyone!
