Long before D&P was ever thought of…
I was living in Texas and needed some cheap buttons. I ran into my favorite resale shop, hoping they had something. I found a bag of buttons on the shelf, they were attached to a whole bag of sewing notions. I went ahead and bought the whole thing. When I got home, I opened the package to find mostly fabric scraps and this beautiful work in progress. A quilt that someone had never finished! I washed it up and put it away because I LOVED the pattern. That was probably 3 years ago. In the midst of all the chaos (which I’m very thankful for) I sat down to finally make something out of this piece. Some sides were finished and some weren’t. I did very little trimming to preserve the original condition, but I did quilt it myself. The whole time I was working on it, I couldn’t help but think of the original owner. No matter who it was, I hope they love where their work ended up.💙
