The Places We Play: Tiefenthaler Park — Milwaukee, WI

Right in the heart of the city, Tiefenthaler Park brings color to the concrete.

Once worn down, this court’s been flipped into something bold—thanks to the hands of local youth and the vision of ActivateMKE. The surface now echoes the iconic MECCA floor, turned into a canvas that tells a story only Milwaukee could paint.

Swipe to see both courts—each one with its own vibe, its own energy.

One spot. Two sides of the same spirit.

It’s more than fresh lines and bright colors—it’s proof of what happens when the community shows up. When the court becomes more than a place to play... it becomes a symbol.
A court like this don’t just stand out—it stands for something.

The Places We Play: McGovern Park — Milwaukee, WI

This park holds courts both worn and reborn.

Swipe through and you’ll see it: the past and present side by side. The old court, faded and forgotten, its lines barely clinging on. A surface worn down by years of runs and rain. It tells its story in silence.

But just beyond that, something fresh. One of four new courts, this one caught our eye.

A blue-painted key. A speckled gray surface. Wide open skies overhead.

This one feels different. Like home court, for now.
It hits different when you catch that golden hour run—light pouring over the rim, last shot before the sun checks out.

We’re drawn to courts like this. Not just for how they look, but what they represent.

One more place we play.

The Places We Play – Dineen Park
Milwaukee, WI

Tucked in the middle of the city is Dineen—where nature and noise collide. The trail winds quiet, but the court doesn’t. This is where pickup stays loud, physical, and unforgiving.

The backboards here are painted like murals—each one telling its own story. They don’t just reflect the game. They reflect the people who show up, day after day, to claim space and earn respect.

But make no mistake—Dineen’s got teeth. A teen was shot once during a game. Coyotes roam the grass.

Still, the game doesn’t stop.

Because for some, this court is more than a court. It’s a stage. A sanctuary. A statement.

The Places We Play: Beulah Brinton—"The Beach"

Some courts earn their names. This one? They call it The Beach. Not for the waves, but for the sand that drifts over from the volleyball courts next door. Some might see a mess—this community sees character.

Basketball courts are more than asphalt and paint. They pick up the stories of the people who hoop there. The early morning runs, the late-night shootarounds, the names that stick.

The Places We Play is a series dedicated to these courts—the ones that shape our game, our neighborhoods, and the culture that connects us.

Feeling Inspired at Meaux Park 🏀🔥

Had the chance to check out the newly revitalized courts at Meaux Park, and we’re beyond inspired by what’s happening here. The transformation—thanks to the amazing work from the Pat Connaughton Foundation, the Kelben Foundation, and so many others—is a true game-changer for Milwaukee. These courts are more than just a place to play; they’re a hub for community, health, and connection.

At Milwaukee Athletic Apparel Club, we’re all about giving back to the places that have given so much to us. That's why 15% of all profits from every order goes towards efforts just like this: bringing new life to our local sports courts, fields, and parks. Seeing the impact of these courts firsthand is a reminder of why we do what we do—and why we’re committed to helping make these kinds of projects happen, one court, one field at a time.

We’re transitioning from Milwaukee Athletic Apparel Company to Milwaukee Athletic Apparel Club, and it’s about so much more than a name change. This shift represents a deeper commitment to our community and a purpose that extends far beyond the products we create. Our mission is simple: to give back to the places that have shaped us. That’s why 15% of everything we do—every order, every subscription—will go directly to revitalizing local sports courts, fields, and parks. Whether it’s restoring a neighborhood basketball court, upgrading a baseball field, or building a new multipurpose space, we’re focused on improving the places where our communities gather, play, and grow.
