We are so delighted to be home at 308A King Street, where it all began over 100 years ago! Opening Friday!
My Aunt Rhett tells the story of this space best-
For over 100 years, this space was the workshop of master jeweler and hand engraver William Joseph Croghan, whose craftsmanship became part of Charleston’s story.
Today, his great granddaughter carries on the creative spirit here as the founder of the Goldbug Collection—a whimsical jewelry line inspired by Charleston’s most unwelcome guest, the palmetto bug, and the curiosities of the Lowcountry some of which include engraving inspired by days gone by.
While Croghan’s Jewel Box has moved to 155 Wonderful King, the legacy of this space lives on through creativity, craftsmanship, and a touch of wonder.
The girls behind make the magic happen and I’m forever grateful that they’ve decided to come along on the adventure with me. .f.allison
