The most deadly drug in the world isn’t fent. It isn’t her0in. It isn’t m3th. It’s alcohol.
Alcohol kills millions of people every year worldwide. Every. Single. Year.
Alcohol is the leading cause of liver failure. A major cause of cancer (mouth, throat, liver, breast.) A driver of heart disease and strokes. A deterioration of the brain. A top contributor to violence, car crashes, drownings, and su***de. One of the only drugs where withdrawal itself can kill you.
And yet we call it normal. Even when it directly caused someone’s death, alcohol is still placed into their coffin as a tradition or ritual, pretending it’s harmless. Why? Because it’s legal. Because it’s marketed. Because it makes billions. Governments tax alcohol heavily. Bars, liquor companies, distributors, advertisers, entire industries depend on people continuing to drink. So instead of honest education, we get, drink responsibly slogans. Jokes about alcoholism, mommy-wine culture, and pressure to drink at social events.
If alcohol caused this level of death and wasn’t profitable, it would be illegal overnight. People in recovery are told they’re too intense. Meanwhile, alcohol quietly destroys bodies, families, and futures, with a smile and a commercial.
This isn’t an anti-alcohol post. It’s an anti-lie post. The most dangerous drug isn’t the one that looks scary. It’s the one society refuses to question.
Normalize sobriety. Stop glamorizing poison. And start telling the truth, even when it makes people uncomfortable. Sometimes the deadliest things come in pretty bottles. Please share to help spread awareness. ❤️‍🩹
