I am in Atlanta visiting friends currently. In our tourist adventures today we visited the , and, as is my custom, I've got a few pieces of 'sewing in art' to share with you. The first quilt (I forgot to capture the info card, sorry) contains hand dyed fabric that was then quilted together. The second quilt is by an unknown quilter, I really should take better notes, but alas.... Pictures 3 & 4 I've got the info cards for you. Enjoy. That safety pin necklace!!!

I'm not sure why I decided to start this project right before heading out of town? Who knows. I feel compelled to have at least one project, sometimes three, going on at all times. Anyway, this one will be waiting for me when I return from visiting friends. I am loving the Golden Girls vibe this color palette is giving. It's some second hand fabric I was given that is going to be something useful and super cute!

We just watched the Jazz Fest documentary currently on Hulu. Spoiler alert, it's awesome! You should check it out. It reminded me about this fun double-sided over-the-collar pet accessories I made for festival season this year. DM me if you'd like one for your furry friend. I've got a few different sizes left.

I got the CUTEST thank you note in the mail this weekend!! It was handmade and appears to be some upcycled quilting. I LOVE it!! I am grateful to be able to help keep sewing as an important part of my community. Thank YOU !! If you haven't already, go check out RicRack on Burgundy St. They offer sewing classes, and a resell store offering clothing and secondhand sewing supplies and fabric. They are doing amazing work for our amazing creative culture.

Yesterday's project had me searching for the perfect shade of green only to realize how much embroidery floss I have accumulated. (It's one of the dangers of gathering second-hand sewing and crafting supplies.) But guess what, I had the color I needed!! My client dropped off a pile of beloved old clothes that needed some attention. For the bulk of it, she just wanted fresh elastic in the wasteband. Easy peasy. But there was one wool dress that had a series of moth holes and I am in the process of sewing those holes closed with the embroidery thread. Let me know if I can fix something that you love and aren't ready to part with yet.
