I sold out of almost everything the first day at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

And every day after that.

I spent most of the weekend behind my booth making new pieces in real time.

Then stayed up until 5 AM every night creating as much as I could before doing it all over again the next day.

I averaged about three hours of sleep and kept making until I ran out of every piece of leather I brought with me.

One of the things I’m most proud of is that Found Objects is worn and appreciated by such a wide range of people.

Women and men.
Young and mature.
Across races, cultures, cities, and countries.

Found Objects brings people together.
It connects us.
And on many occasions, people have told me it feels like we’re part of a tribe.

What a gift it is to create something with my hands that carries that kind of energy.

After all, that’s what I believe life is about …
love, connection, and good energy. 🤍

1. So David was really working overtime up there to connect with me yesterday….and it was so beautiful and bittersweet. I got on my personal Facebook account (for the first time in years) so I could open up a foundation page for him and the first slide popped up… ❤️‍🩹 David loved to sing. When he was 18 he recorded this and sent it to me. He was really into singing at this age.

2. He also [secretly] loved to dance. But more than dancing he loved his crew of guys. They got together and came up with this dance at school. He was 19. I swear I just love this for all of them. David is the one in all black.
3. His taste in music ranged from Sade to KISS to Nas and everything in between. But WTF for real? 🤣

I swear he remains the funniest dude I’ve ever met.
