Last winter, during NY Fashion Week, I had an impromptu dinner with my dear friend Libby Page, who had recently moved from London to New York to work at Vogue. At the time I was searching for a more sustainable way to incorporate denim into the collection, and Libby suggested I meet with the team at AGOLDE. A cup of tea and one or two martinis later, AGOLDE x Maria McManus was born, with mood boards, sketches, materials, and fittings between New York and Los Angeles quickly to follow.

Working with AGOLDE was a dream - first and foremost they are wonderful people - but also because of our shared values around sustainability, intentional design, and a lighter carbon footprint. Our collaboration of 16 pieces, inspired by 90’s Craig McDean photographs of Kate Moss and Amber Valletta wearing simple white shirts, cotton tank tops, and jeans, unites AGOLDE’s innovation in denim with my more refined approach to tailoring and modern minimalism. The result is a capsule that feels elevated, enduring, and responsibly made.

Our Spring / Summer 2026 collection celebrates collective female action, and how that action can reshape luxury through skilled knowledge and communal intentions. It centers sustainability as a working standard instead of a virtue, and values designers and makers and their skilled, collaborative work, featuring stunning bags by and jewelry by - all made in Italy.

This collection is built to help us get through our days with more integrity, beauty, and optimism. It is for school drop-offs, board meetings, interviews, cocktails, road trips - real, relatable looks for women with complicated, demanding lives. You’ll see naturally occurring materials such as organic washed cotton poplin, closed loop Naia sateen, and organic cotton velour. You’ll also notice a push to help promote and protect traditional textile crafts such as hand smocking,
lace, crochet and macramé.

Honored to be included in ’s roundup of New York Fashion Week so far, and grateful that she recognized the time and care we put into the materials, quality and fit of each garment.

This season we chose not to stage a traditional show. Instead, we gathered industry friends and family at my neighbor in Greenwich Village. The format felt more intentional, more natural. Runway shows are exhilarating and fun, but in a world that can feel increasingly disconnected, they can also feel a little cold.

Instead of a 12 minute show, we spent an afternoon presenting the collection in a gallery setting surrounded by works by Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Chapo, and Pierre Jeanneret. It allowed me to spend time with each guest, speaking about how modern Druid folk and my recent obsession with , as well as Sinéad O’Connor’s collaborations with artists as varied as Massive Attack and The Chieftains, shaped the spirit of this collection - modern twists on traditional Aran cables, tweeds and granny lace details.

WINTER 2026

Part of the magic of creating a collection is gathering our team of stylists, photographers, models, hair and make up together to create mood boards, reference images, lighting references, style outs and finally the actual look book. While the look book is shot in just one day, the actual process to get there can take weeks and usually months. To me this process, and the actual day of the photoshoot, are the most inspiring part of creating a collection.
