Sometimes grandparents’ love arrives in bags of handmade treats sent all the way from their kitchen in India. ✨🫶🏽

My kids are lucky to be showered with so much love and warmth by both sets of grandparents, even though they get to see them less often than I saw mine. Getting to witness their bond with their nana, nani, baba, and dadi feels extra special to me, especially because I rarely got to experience that myself growing up. 🥹

How many of these treats can you recognize and name? I can already hear my (two) very hungry brown bear(s) saying, “My heart would like some more, please!” 🐻🫖😋

My first drive of 2026 happened last weekend, on the way to author workshops. A quiet what if of courage, beside a familiar what if of fear.

It reminded me of this excerpt from Junglee Phool Journal, Issue 01, Phulo Phalo फूलो फलो. Notes on Blooming.

Issue 01 is for anyone navigating a new year with their own quiet what ifs.

Inside, you’ll find my year told in seasons, shaped around a simple refrain: “I didn’t plan… but I did.” Woven in are personal photographs, original word art, and prompts to help you explore what’s blooming, what’s holding you back, and what you want to tend to next, even if you didn’t plan it.

Comment BLOOM for a link to read it in your DMs, or head to the link in bio.

With wildflower strength 🌸

In Happy Hippotastic Holi!, color is optional. 🌈

Kindness is not. 🌸

Our joyful hippos model a better way: asking before adding color, listening when someone says “no,” and welcoming everyone in the way they feel most comfortable celebrating. 🌈🦛
