This is our love letter to emerging artists everywhere. We want to transform your art into Tombolo shirts and host a solo show for you in New York City. Do you want to take a joyride with us?

We are thrilled to present “Birdbath” - a limited edition (1/200), hand-signed shirt designed by Tombolo’s fourth annual Artist in Residence, Julian MacMillan

Each shirt has been meticulously hand-embroidered to Julian’s specifications.

Chosen from over 600 applicants to the 2025-2026 Tombolo Artist Residency, Julian stole our attention with his bold and mesmerizing loons (for the uninitiated… an aquatic bird) that swim through mythology, dive in the subconscious, and surface in themes of rebirth.

Julian’s solo exhibition is on view at The Hole at 312 Bowery in New York City until May 3rd, 2026. Select works are also on display at Tombolo’s flagship store at 208 Mott Street.
