What happens to your heart when alcohol enters your bloodstream?

After you drink alcohol, it is absorbed into the bloodstream and transported throughout the body. The liver does most of the work of breaking alcohol down—but the heart is affected as alcohol circulates through the blood.

Alcohol can temporarily increase your heart rate and influence blood pressure and blood-vessel function.

With frequent heavy drinking, the effects can become more serious. Alcohol can increase the risk of abnormal heart rhythms, including atrial fibrillation, and over time may weaken the heart muscle.

This condition is called alcohol-associated cardiomyopathy, where the heart can become enlarged and less effective at pumping blood.

So, alcohol doesn't get “processed” by the heart—but it can significantly affect how the heart works.

THE BLASTOCYST: A Tiny Beginning of Human Development ❤️

“About 5 to 6 days after fertilization, the developing embryo reaches an important stage called the blastocyst.

At this stage, the cells have organized into different groups.

The inner cell mass will develop into the embryo.

The outer layer, called the trophoblast, helps the blastocyst attach to and interact with the lining of the uterus and later contributes to the placenta.

Inside is a fluid-filled space called the blastocoel, while the cells continue dividing and specializing.

The next major step is implantation, when the blastocyst attaches to the uterine lining.

What Is a Pap Smear? 🩺

A Pap smear (Pap test) is a routine screening test that checks cells from the cervix for changes that could potentially lead to cervical cancer.
