What an absolutely incredible day yesterday at Pride Center of Staten Island annual PrideFest! The energy, the joy, and the community spirit were just amazing. So much love and acceptance in one place!

Today, I'm honored and excited to be marching with the wonderful folks from Free Mom Hugs- New Jersey at Asbury Park Pride! Look for me – I'll be there spreading love, support, and, of course, free mom hugs.

Okay, so it's starting to get real over here!

I went for my pre-op tests this week for my lumpectomy, for Stage 0 breast cancer diagnosis.

Honestly, it was a bit of a whirlwind of emotions, and of all days, it landed on what would have been my Aunt Jeannie's 97th birthday. Seriously, the universe speaks to me! I definitely felt her with me.

This whole journey is just kicking off, and while it's a lot to wrap my head around, I'm just taking it one day at a time.

I'm so incredibly thankful for all the love and support from my amazing friends and family as I figure this out.

I try so hard to keep things on the professional side here but I've been dealing with this quietly for the last three months and finally have answers and I want to share something personal and important.

I was recently diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer. While hearing the word “cancer” is never easy, I’m incredibly grateful it was caught early—thanks to regular screening and knowing my family history.

Breast cancer runs in my family. My mom is a two-time survivor, and her strength has always been an inspiration to me. Her journey is one of the reasons that I’ve stayed vigilant about my own health—and now, that vigilance has made all the difference. It's a big part of why I want to speak openly about this.

As part of my treatment, I’ll be having a lumpectomy soon. I’m feeling strong, hopeful, and so grateful to have amazing support around me.

One of the reasons I’m sharing this is because I want us to feel empowered to have open conversations about our health. As women, we must advocate for ourselves—ask the questions, push for answers, and trust our instincts.

If sharing my story encourages even one person to schedule a screening, share their story or speak up for their own care, then it’s worth every word.

Thank you to everyone who’s been in my corner. I’m ready for this next step—and I’ll keep sharing as I go, because no one should have to face this alone.
