KAI by Pamela Rogel Handmade Designs KAI by Pamela Rogel is an expression of art, is a legend of origin inspired in how the native people Mapuche Huilliche were created.

Pamela Rogel was born in the South of Chile in 1982, She always been interested in Handmade Designs, when she had 8 years old learned weaving and embroidery tecniques, from then she never stop, Pamela never used a sewing machine, just her hands, all her designs are made and inspired with handmade details. The history is about the fight between the sea, represented in Kai (water snake) and the eart

h, represented in Trentren (earth snake); Pamela represent Kai using salmon leather, and Trentren using vegetable wool from Chile; she mix the concept and create KAI, in all her works she mix handmade weaving with ecofriendly wool from Chile, and Salmon Leather, both from the place where she born, The Chilean Patagonia...
Pamela is currently working in her first collection inspired in this concept, Handmade Clothes from the Southern end of the World to New York City....

All KAI collection is based in the legend Trentren and Caicai Vilu, the legend and the origin of the Chiloean and mountains of southern of Chile, this origin was caused by a fierce battle between two mythical snakes, Trentren Vilu (trentren="related with the earth", vilu="snake") and Caicai Vilu (Caicai="related with the water", vilu="snake"), KAI represent the earthsnake using wool, because is a material to come from the earth, and the watersnake is represented using salmon leather because come from the sea. The result is KAI, a fusion between earth and water, natural materials, using just hands to do it!!!

KAI by Pamela Rogel is a new propouse, mixing wool making with organic tint, like tree roots, onion and potatos peel, flowers, giving a natural and ecofriendly color, with original salmon leather from the Chilean Patagonia. Every design is unique, and show different textures, in this dress is a weaving loom, salmon and lamb leather, every detail is totally handmade carefully.
