I’ve never liked intermissions, I’m always too excited to see how the story will unfold. I sit in my seat anxiously waiting for the lights to flicker, for everyone to make their way back to their seats, and hear the music start again. And this is a long one- 6 months without Broadway 💔
I vividly remember when I heard about the theatres being shut down. We were all listening to the broadcast in the office of my internship and as soon as we heard the news everyone got silent. We all knew something was happening, but I could have never predicted what we have seen the past few months. My heart hurts for this industry I love so much, I can’t even put it into words. When I heard the news of the extended shut down I immediately started crying. This industry isn’t just a place of work, it is people’s passions, hopes and dreams all rolled into one. It has always been my dream to work on Broadway, and every day I am thinking of that day when I will, when I can sit in that seat again and hear the first strings of the orchestra. But for now, “To the world we dream about. And the one we live in now” 🎭
