Since childhood, I’ve loved spending time at my grandparents' farm—those are some of the warmest and dearest memories of my childhood, when everything was carefree and free from obligations and worries. My grandparents didn’t have many animals, and I always felt that they had them more for my enjoyment and out of their immense love for me. One summer day, when I arrived there, I was surprised by the large amount of hay stored in what used to be an empty barn. Later, my grandfather showed me who the hay was for. It was at that moment, at the age of 10, that I saw a sheep for the first time in person. Lying on the soft hay were three fluffy white lambs, and I was amazed by their soft, delicate wool. Over the summer, the lambs grew quickly, and their wool became rougher and took on a lanolin-rich shine. That’s how my introduction to real, unprocessed wool began. I was always amazed at how sheep could be so smart, playful, and affectionate—contrary to the stereotypes. I truly fell in love with those three little ones. And who would’ve thought at that moment that they would become the inspiration for my future career path.
