Banwa Creations Inaul fabrics, shawls, bags, barong and dress Today, Inaul is used as shawls, barong, dresses and gowns.

Banwa Creations supports the community of Inaul weavers in Mindanao to help create livelihood opportunities for disadvantaged women and out-of school youth. Inaul (pronounced as “Inol”) is the age-old tradition of weaving fabrics using a wooden loom made into malong or wrap around skirts. Inaul has more than 20 patterns and depending on the intricacies of the design, the weavers spend about one to

four weeks to craft a four-meter long fabric. The art of Inaul weaving is considered “Bara-Bangsa” – a symbol of pride and royalty. Also, the highest form of artistic expression for the tribes in Maguindanao and Marawi. But for the women of Al Jameelah Weaving Center and the Weaving Village of Sultan Kudarat, Inaul weaving is more than a cultural heritage. It is a commitment to a dignified and peaceful living that they hope to sustain to support their children and their families.
