GT Tower East an office tower in Seoul, South Korea. Designed by the Dutch architectural firm ArchitectenConsort, based in Rotterdam. With its elegantly undulating glass facade, the new high-rise brings a fascinating change to the angular architecture of the Korean capital. The form and positioning of the 130-metre-high building are the impressive result of the vision of architects Peter Couwenbergh and Edgar Bosman of ArchitectenConsort. They chose a uniform, glass finish for the facade, which has resulted in an organically pure form. The undulating motion of the facades provides an optically changing primary form when passing the building. Combined with the reflection of the light in the glass, this gives the building a special, iconic appearance.

It’s funny to see the food/snacks that mom remembers me eating mostly from high school....then mixed in with things that I’m super excited about like minced garlic and mini potatoes 👼🏻>👦🏼
1st picture was from mom on 4/21. 2nd was from mom 4/2 and the 3rd was from Dad 3/20, that also included 2 full body tyvec jump suits! (For those wondering, my dad has the masks long before this because he owns a remodeling business)

This building 😍 That rooftop pool 🤯

Three mixed-use residencial towers, connected by sky bridges and conceived as three-dimensional city, are set to occupy an important crossroad in the city of Shenzhen. At 200-meters high, a skyloop links all three towers with indoor and outdoor amenities such as restaurants, spas, residential lounges, swimming pools and other attractions. Architecture:

To Pay Rent or To Buy Groceries? That is NOT the Question!

By now, hopefully, we’re all beginning to adjust to our new respective daily “norms,” be it sharing the kitchen counter (aka the home office) with everyone that’s stuck home or competing with the cat for couch space. Kidding aside, these are challenging times and one big question is hanging in the air for those most impacted by COVID-19: What do I do about rent? It’s important to me that you’re all informed before making that choice.

On March 16th, New York State suspended all eviction proceedings and pending housing court orders “until further notice,” but this is NOT a rent freeze. What does that mean? Landlords, while unable to evict you, are still expecting your rent. And if you do not pay—at least as it currently stands—this means they may be able to begin eviction proceedings on the missed rent after housing courts re-open. We just don’t know which landlords will do what! So there are two main things to keep in mind:

ONE: If you’re in a dire financial situation where you have to choose between paying your rent or affording basic quality of life necessities like food or medicine, take care of you first! You are currently protected. Just know you technically owe that rent.

TWO: This is equally important, keep the lines of communication open with your landlord. If it’s only within your means to afford part of the rent, be it half or even a quarter, ask if you can do that instead. NYC and NYS are tenant-friendly in most situations, especially during this pandemic. Keep a record of everything you’ve discussed (or of your attempts if your landlord is unresponsive). This can be critical if your landlord does try to evict you later. If you speak on the phone, summarize what was agreed on in a follow-up email. Begin with something like: “To memorialize our conversation…” and end with a “Please correct any details if they are incorrect.”

What makes a legal bedroom in NYC? First, let’s bust a very common myth. As much as I hate to say it, a bedroom does not require a closet 😫

Here are some highlights from the DOB

➡️a minimum of 80 square feet
➡️a minimum width of 8 feet in any dimension
➡️a minimum ceiling height of 8 feet
➡️at least one regulation size window opening to a street, yard or other outdoor space (skylights may suffice in certain zoning districts)
➡️two means of egress, or exit, either a window or door accessible from the inside without using keys or tools

CRAZYNESS!

Of course there are more, and there are variances. To see them go to nyc.com and check the DOB

(I am not an architect. You should contact the DOB and/or a licensed architect for exact laws and regulations.)
