I keep thinking about how most Digital Weather Forecast Systems are becoming AI and used to process massive data sets and global models into neat little grid predictions.

I wonder about the regional gaps. The little blind spots in the algorithm that can’t account for missing data or the inability to live an experience.

If we’ve talked about the weather since the beginning, I’m sure not going to lose that to AI in the future.

This year we’re taking note of how our weather behaves differently from the models, and looking at the anomalies in our region. We invite you to do the same.
Be smart about it. I don’t want to read about you in the paper.

More on this project at the end of summer. But we need you to collect findings in your area in the mean time. We will reach out when the time is right.

Fishing is like Photoshop. Most people teach themselves, pick up a few tips from a friend, or maybe had to look up a technique from a video. In the end you stick to what you know, and get the same results as someone with a different technique.
If you look at the fly tying desks of those that started the sport, here in New York, you’ll see an abundance of workarounds and half ideas. Its incredible. They were making it up as they went along. Study the bugs and the rest follows.

Do what you know first, and for everything else, improvise confidently.
