Wherever I go, I take my parasol with me.
Unnecessary? Not really.

You never know when you're gonna need it. The sun can be intense sometimes and when it peaks out from the clouds is unpredictable.

My demeanor changes when I carry it. It feels easier to stand a little taller, to walk a little lighter and I know that people are watching.

I'm not trying to be a spectacle. I like the way I feel. I like how my parasol enhances my outfit. I love my photos with it. And I especially love I am protected from the sun.

It's a conscious experience to have it when you don't have a medical reason to but being conscious is the journey.

I used to think boundaries were something you said.
Then I started carrying a parasol.
What surprised me wasn't how people reacted.
