BREAKING: As of Thursday, no agreement had been reached with the United States, according to a senior Iranian source speaking to Reuters, although the source indicated that differences between the two sides had narrowed.

Reuters further reported that Iran’s uranium enrichment program and Tehran’s authority over the Strait of Hormuz continue to represent key obstacles in negotiations.
The developments follow remarks by a member of Iran’s Parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, who stated on state television that Tehran could choose to act preemptively if it believed a U.S. military base was preparing for an attack.
Fadahossein Maleki, a member of Iran’s Parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, told state TV: “Anything is possible.”
He added, “It could even originate from Iran’s side. If we determine that activities are underway from a U.S. base, Iran has the legitimate right to respond and take preventive action,” according to Iran International.

US President Donald Trump has warned Taiwan against formally declaring independence from China following his summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
