“What we created together was nothing short of extraordinary.” – Rick Lazes, Producer of House of McQueen

This weekend, House of McQueen took its final bow at The Mansion. What began as a daring vision became a living tribute to Lee Alexander McQueen — a world where fashion met theatre, and every thread told a story.

To our cast, crew, designers, collectors, and audiences who stepped into this universe with us, we thank you. You made the house come alive. From the stage to the exhibition curated by Byronesque, each moment was a testament to the beauty and brilliance of creation itself.

Though the curtain has closed, something new is being stitched together... A secret we’ve been carrying close is almost ready to be revealed. Unmasking McQueen is on the horizon… but until then, what do you think we’ve been creating? 🪡

From early rehearsals to opening night, from quiet discoveries in the rehearsal room to thunderous applause under the lights — what an extraordinary journey this has been.

We are endlessly grateful to our cast, crew, creative team, and the incredible audiences who believed in this vision from the start. Every late night, every costume fitting, every note of music and movement came together to create something truly unforgettable.

Alongside the play was the monumental Exhibition curated by Byronesque. This one of a kind collection featured rare archival pieces from his very first show to the final bow, coming together to be its own act of storytelling. Together, the stage and the archive have opened a dialogue between fashion, art, and emotion.

Thank you for making House of McQueen not just a production, but a living memory. 🖤✨

Writer Darrah Cloud and director Sam Helfrich channel the spirit of Alexander McQueen through language, rhythm, and theatrical invention.

Cloud, an alum of the Iowa Writers Workshop and a prolific playwright whose works span from Sabina to The House Across the Street, writes with both precision and empathy, capturing the pulse of creation itself.

Helfrich, celebrated for his award-winning operatic productions across the world, sculpts the visual and emotional landscape of House of McQueen with the same daring innovation that defined McQueen’s runway.

Together, they bring McQueens story and ultimately, world to life. We thank them for all of their incredible, unforgettable work for the House of McQueen.
