Let’s Choose Love

Who is your enemy?

Maybe it’s the person across the street who seems to judge everything you do. Maybe it’s the person on social media who hates what you stand for. Maybe it’s someone who doesn’t try to care about you. Or maybe you don’t have “enemies,” but you have people who make you feel angry, frustrated, and inferior.

It’s no secret that our world seems divided. There always seems to be tension in the relational, spiritual, and political climate of our world. And sometimes, it seems impossible to put differences aside and treat people who hurt us with kindness and grace.

But Jesus has called us to live differently. Jesus calls us to “love our enemies, and do good to them.” And then, He demonstrated what this looks like by dying for everyone. He gave up His own life on behalf of people who hated Him … and He didn’t expect anything from them in return.

Every person on this planet—past, present, and future—God loves. And He has called each of us to love others like He loves us: sacrificially, humbly, and unconditionally.

Loving our enemies doesn’t mean we should put ourselves in unhealthy or unsafe situations, nor does it mean we should ignore the pain someone has caused us. But it does mean that we daily seek to represent Jesus by showing people respect, empathy, truth, and grace. It means we acknowledge the pain and the injustice we experience while never ceasing to pray that our enemies personally accept Jesus.

It’s Jesus who showed us what unconditional love and forgiveness looked like when He died for us. It’s Jesus who took Paul, a murderer, and turned him into a great evangelist. It’s Jesus who forgave Peter for denying Him, and set him apart to build the global Church. It’s Jesus who loved religious zealots who betrayed Him, and crowds who tried to kill Him.

When Jesus asks us to love our enemies, He isn’t asking us to do anything that He hasn’t already done first.

Jesus is kind to the “ungrateful and the wicked” and that includes us. So let’s represent Jesus well so that others—even our enemies—want to know Him. Because when people know Him, they won’t want to stay as they are … they will want to become more like Jesus.

Trying not to be polarized.
But the answer can be let the tax payer pay and use government money!

I think more working class people which is most Americans would love to be able to keep more of their earned money instead of us bailing, forgiving and maybe we can try to fix the education system that. Ith democrats and republicans who reduced funding for state schools and once have aid and turned it into loans and that system is broken and everyone knows it but no one cares!

There is no free money it is all tax payers money and we can’t keep up this cost of living and taxes that is being given away like we are not an indent country!!

Corrupt Supreme Court ?
Corrupt means if they don’t see things as you see them?

How about we push government to truthfully give financial aid instead of making us all take out loans to get an education!
And let’s funs education instead of special interest groups,
Who is going to pay all this debt and stop putting the burden on tax payers and the middle class that you claim to represent?

On Friday, corrupt, Republican-appointed Supreme Court justices shamefully ripped President Biden’s student loan relief away from millions of Americans.1 This decision means that tens of millions of borrowers are now left without a lifeline, especially with student loan repayments restarting again on August 31.

But this is not the end! President Biden has since responded to these attacks, authorizing use of the Higher Education Act.2 Using this authority, the Department of Education can provide debt cancellation for borrowers we already know qualify AND create a new relief program through its rule-making process.3

We just have to come together and get loud to make sure that Biden upholds his promises to cancel student debt as soon as possible!

Friday’s decision is not the end. There are still many tools that have been used time and time again in our history to provide borrowers the relief that they desperately need. The Biden administration can and must use them.

Unfortunately, blocking student debt relief for millions of people wasn’t the only harmful decision that these corrupt right-wing judges made. Just yesterday, they gutted affirmative action but left protections in place for legacy admissions. Their decision will favor white and wealthy folks while pushing Black and brown folks to the margins.4 And Friday, just before they released the student debt decision, their ruling paved the way for businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people.5

Time and time again, the far-right majority of the Supreme Court puts special interests and politics ahead of people and above delivering justice under the law.

But we will not be silenced. Millions have had to wait in economic limbo for nearly a year, and we will not accept a return to the failed status quo. MoveOn members have been signing petitions, making calls to members of Congress, rallying at SCOTUS, and sharing stories on how crushing student debt affects all of us.

It’s now up to President Biden and his administration to ensure borrowers finally receive promised relief another way.

I sent this out to several dem and republican house members.

We need term limits and to have politicians follow with our health and pension plans not somw lifelong cushion they get!!!

I believe you want the best for all Americans, and from my experience most Americans are good, and just want a fair chance, hope for a home, safe place to live and to not live in fear. There is the woke culture, the MAGA Culture and the Cancel Culture, we can all be better, I believe in our country and Americans, can we start believing more in each other, and stop operating out of fear. George Washington warned our country when he stepped down and shared his political power of the danger of partisanship. Our political world is dividing our United States of America. And you are either doing it, doing nothing or need to be the change I think more Americans want of compromise, respect and shared power between all people, not just extremist?
King David could be considered one of the greatest leaders of all time and the only one to officially unify the nation of Israel and all 12 tribes of Jacob!
Yes he sinned and fell but in the beginning with Abner he didn’t celebrate the fall of his foe, but saw the bigger picture and mourned his death. He put country over self, kept to the principals of respect and dignity even if his opposition didn’t practice it themselves.
I pray and I hope you would pass this on and maybe we can find some new leader for our free country who can truly unify us, and put aside small and selfish identity and make us the United States of America.
We can never be one if Biden, trump, Schumer or McCarthy keep trying to slay the other, and goal is to dismiss or eliminate the enemy??? Plus we all waste so much energy into fighting and disagreeing that we could use that towards building and fixing and truly working together! It’s time to bring the states back together?? If your tired of the same old hypocrisy of name calling on both sides please pass on and let the powers know that we want another option, 3 is the luckiest of numbers. We need a gray party a party that realizes most of life is neither black or white and their is validity in being conservative and liberal even at the same time!

Corruption and waste become a part of any organization since the beginning of time.
Even groups that are trying to combat obvious evils are subject to them.
And if an organization like any government gets too big it is even impossible to oversee and manage.

As I wrote this , it goes back down to the people. Can we bring change.
True change?
I always have hope, but the family is a more manageable endeavor.
Even though I know having four kids at times I too may waste and lack the spirit of openness and willing the good as the other.

My hope is that if we can continue to be vigilant and also work hard to be a loving, kind, fair father, mother, brother, sister, son and daughter we can at least on the foundational level change the world. Now if we can get some term limits, and stop letting government get bigger and manage and tax more , and Hope we get some more individuals in who can question, and try to adddress the world of corruption and waste we shall overcome some day!
Small steps and patience but vigilance.
