Want to raise a neckline without leaving a trace? Enter the Ladder Stitch!

🪡 This hand sewing technique seamlessly joins two folded edges of fabric. The tailor stitches back and forth between the folds (creating a "ladder" shape), and when the thread is pulled tight, the seam closes up and the thread disappears!

Tailors rely on it to seamlessly close up inner linings, finish cuffs without visible topstitching, repair split seams, or (like our expert tailor is doing in this video) close up a low neckline for a more comfortable fit.
