"***** I Was Pickpocketed Once - Never Again - I learned about pickpockets the hard way. I was in an elevator at Oakland Kaiser Hospital wearing Levi& #39;s Dockers when someone yelled that their hand was stuck in the opening elevator door. I instinctively went to help them, and in those few seconds of distraction, someone else very easily lifted my wallet right out of my front left pocket. Classic distraction technique, and I fell for it completely.
That was the last time I wore regular pants without thinking about security. I discovered Clothing Arts Pick-Pocket Proof Adventure Travel Pants nearly a decade ago - long before COVID - and they& #39;ve been my everyday pants ever since. Not just for travel. Every. Single. Day.
Nearly 10 Years Later - Still Going Strong:

Security That Actually Works:
The difference between my Dockers (where a wallet was easily lifted from my front pocket during a moment of distraction) and these pants is night and day. Even the main front pockets have zippers covered by buttoned flaps. It& #39;s virtually impossible for someone to get past the buttoned flap and zippered front pockets - and that& #39;s just the first layer of security.
I actually went one step further and added my own modification: I attached a small quarter-inch steel ring to the fabric at the closed zipper end of the small inner pockets located in the main front pockets, and a small alligator clip attached to the zipper pull. While not easy to use on the go, I use this setup to carry small valuables and cash throughout trips. It& #39;s virtually impossible for someone to get past the buttoned flap and zippered front pockets, but if they did, they& #39;d probably never realize there& #39;s an inner zipper pocket. And if they somehow got that far, they& #39;d have to figure out how to unclip the alligator clip deep within the pocket - which I only do at the end or beginning of the day with the pants off and in my lap.
This isn& #39;t for daily on-the-go use; it& #39;s to securely carry cash and valuables throughout a trip with absolute peace of mind. After being pickpocketed once, I& #39;m not taking chances.
What I Love - Day-to-Day Practicality:
The security features brought me to Clothing Arts, but the quality and functionality keep me wearing them daily. The organization of all 11 multi-secure pockets is outstanding - I have everything I need at my fingertips throughout my workday. They& #39;re genuinely useful for carrying keys, phone, wallet, small tools, and paperwork while moving between properties.
Unlike cotton pants, these keep me much drier in the rain and quickly dry out when the rain stops. One Trade-Off to Mention:
The only drawback is that having a hip replacement, I can& #39;t go through metal detectors, so I need to be scanned, which usually leads to false positives from all the security features and my DIY modifications. But it& #39;s not the end of the world for the peace of mind these pants provide. After having my wallet stolen from regular pants, a few extra minutes at security is a small price to pay.
Bottom Line:
These pants look like normal casual khakis - professional enough for work, comfortable enough for travel, and durable enough to last nearly a decade of daily wear. The quality is exceptional. The YKK zippers are still working perfectly after all these years. They& #39;re heavier and more substantial than typical lightweight travel pants, but that& #39;s exactly why they last.
For anyone wondering if they& #39;re worth the investment: I was pickpocketed once wearing regular Dockers. That was enough.
