🧵❄️ A Note From My Sewing Table — An Update to My Pricing ❄️🧵

I want to take a moment to share an important update about my pricing.

As I’ve grown as an Alaskan Native seamstress over the past two decades I’ve always strived to keep the price of finished products as low as possible. For a long time, I’ve tried to absorb some of those costs myself because I wanted my work to remain as affordable as possible. But doing that has meant that the actual value of my time and craftsmanship hasn’t always been reflected in my prices. Unfortunately the cost of producing these pieces has increased to an unsustainable level. Tariffs have especially hit my small business hard.

So, moving forward, my pricing will better reflect the materials, import costs, time, skill, craftsmanship, and hours of work that go into each piece. I will continue to keep the cost of simple items low but will increase the cost of complex orders.

Each piece represents hours at the sewing machine and by hand—measuring, cutting, stitching, trimming, fitting, finishing, and carefully working through every detail. The trims in particular can take a tremendous amount of time. What may look like a small detail on a finished garment can represent hours of handwork and careful construction. I want to continue making pieces with the level of quality and attention to detail that traditional handmade work deserves.

Every piece that leaves my sewing room carries a little piece of the work, patience, creativity, and love that went into making it. ❤️ You’re supporting an Alaskan Native artist, a small handmade business, and the time and knowledge that goes into keeping these sewing traditions alive. (I wish I could show my Aakaluk Elizabeth Frantz and Aakaluk Emily Brower how far I’ve come)

To everyone who has purchased from me, commissioned a piece, shared my work, encouraged me, or simply followed along—Quyanaqpak. Thank you so much. Your support means more than you know.

I’m excited to continue creating beautiful, meaningful, handmade-in-Alaska pieces and to keep putting the time and care into them that they deserve.

🧵 New pricing will be reflected on upcoming pieces and custom orders.

Thank you for continuing to value handmade. 🤍
