Batik is a wax and dye process which was highly developed by the Indonisians and soon spread to other Asian countries. From its inception when the artist draws the design onto a cloth, Batik goes through an intricate process of waxing, dyeing, boiling, and drying. This art can be as simple or as elaborate as the artist desires. While it is possible to make a Batik in one dye color, Vipula's pieces sometimes have as many as 15 different waxing and dyeing steps.
Check out some of the designs I have in stock. These are available for sale and prices will vary between different fabrics shown. Most of these are measured at 16.5" x 14.5."
