After a uterine cancer diagnosis, which later went into remission, Sheila’s cancer returned and spread to her colon.

Praying her oncologist was wrong, Sheila received an ostomy and now undergoes chemo maintenance every 3 weeks.

Though she’s had to adjust to a different life, Sheila said she’s grateful to be alive and takes on the world with Aphrodite (her ostomy). 🫶

“There was nothing out there. They had bottoms—but no tops.”

Can you imagine lingerie specifically made to accommodate your needs not existing?! This was exactly the case before Still A Lady was born.

I always saw myself as a business owner. But never a fashion designer.

Because of my entrepreneurial spirit and this cancer diagnosis, I felt like creating Still A Lady was what I was supposed to do.

I’ve been able to meet so many wonderful ladies, see CONFIDENCE radiate through them…, and see them feel good about themselves, even if it’s for a short time …it’s so rewarding.

You are not alone. You are still beautiful and sexy, and you can be all of this WITH your ostomy.

Because… you are Still A Lady ❤️

REMINDER: We are our own worst critics. ❤️‍🩹

As ostomates, it can be easy to look in the mirror, see our bags, and feel many negative emotions.

It’s easy to feel unwanted or ask ourselves why we were given or chosen for this.

However… if we change the NARRATIVE in our heads, we can see and paint a more BEAUTIFUL life for ourselves.

I am BEAUTIFUL…

I am WORTHY…

I am CAPABLE…

Instead of looking at our bags as reminders of our STRUGGLES, we must do our best to lift ourselves and look at the POSITIVES.

It is easier said than done… but with a little practice and support from our community, we can do it.

I am THANKFUL to be here.

I am THANKFUL for my life.

I am THANKFUL for my community.

Even if we have to TRICK our minds into thinking things we might not believe, it might help us actually believe it in the future!!!

Remember: We are all beautiful, sexy, and Still A Lady ❤️

“Beauty starts from inside, and I believe we are different to make a difference.”

What started as a rare cancer diagnosis at 3 years old has propelled model Jearlean Taylor into a world of advocacy and positivity.

Bullied and stuck with low self-esteem, Jearlean did not know how to navigate her new life with not one—but two ostomy bags.

Thanks to encouragement from her parents, her faith, and others lifting her, she has found her “why” and serves as an advocate—a term she defines as “a voice for the voiceless” for the ostomy community.

Remember that LIFE happens to all of us… but it’s about how you handle challenges, circumstances, and situations.

My heart is so overwhelmed with the support and wonderful ladies I’ve met through Still A Lady… however, there is one lady I want to pay extra thanks to.

To Pat… the woman who turns my dreams into a reality. She is the TALENT behind all my work and the woman who CREATES everything you see on the runway. The crowd gives us so much love and I feel like they get into it as much as we do!!!
