I don’t think our kids need more entertainment. I think they need more chances to create it themselves.

I want my kids to know what it feels like to turn a few pieces of paper into a restaurant, a doctor’s office, or an entire imaginary world.

Someday they’ll grow out of pretend play, and I don’t want to rush them there.

I was at a new parent orientation for school this week and was reminded that in the early years, you are your kids’ whole world. As they grow, parental influence can drastically decline relative to outside influences. Be the best you can be for your kids, especially while they are young.
