We’re two sisters who were born and raised in Florida, with countless memories of our parents taking us to the beach. Even when life moved us away from the coast, we always felt like the ocean was in our blood. Every chance we had, we found our way back to dip our toes in the water.
Military life took us in separate directions for many years, but we still made time to be together by the sea. Whether it was the East Coast, West Coast, or the Pacific islands, the ocean was always where we felt most at peace and where so many of our memories live.
Losing our mom at a young age, and more recently our dad, cracked our world open. We learned early what it meant to feel broken through grief, love, and loss. We’ve held each other’s hands through divorce, through raising children, and through seasons that felt like storms. Through it all, we have watched one another grow and transform in beautiful ways.
Two Broke Shells was born from this belief: even the most fractured pieces, still beautiful in their brokenness, can become breathtaking. Every shell we work with carries its own story. Some are whole, some worn down, some broken by the waves. Each one reminds us that beauty does not require perfection. It is found in the journey and in the marks that make something unique.
Our dad always believed there was a use for everything. To him, broken never meant useless. It simply meant it needed to find its purpose.
We hope that when you hold one of our pieces, you feel seen. We hope you remember that your story, no matter how many cracks it carries, is worth cherishing. Broken can still be beautiful. 🐚🤍✨
