Ten years ago, this was my little corner of the Paragould Farmers' Market when only a handful of us were setting up under tents in the courthouse parking lot.

A folding table. Two white shelves. A handful of blankets and hats. I had no idea where any of it would lead—I just knew I wanted to make things with my hands and hoped someone else would love them too.

A decade later, both the Paragould Farmers’ Market and The Cozy Cottage have grown.

The booth is bigger. The shelves have changed. The blankets have mostly given way to tiny friends. And the farmers’ market has a permanent home each Saturday at the community pavilion with a lot more than a handful of farmers, artisans, and bakers

And somehow, a lot of things are still exactly the same.

I’m still setting my alarm before sunrise. I’m still carrying way too many bins. I’m still waiting for that first customer. And I’m still grateful that I get to spend my Saturday mornings here.

If you’re out this morning, come see us at the Paragould Farmers’ Market from 8 AM until noon. We’ll have all of our newest friends, blankets, chubby buddies, loaf cats, bag charms, and more.

And if you’re more of an afternoon person, don’t worry—you can still find The Cozy Cottage at Sweet T's Vintage & Artisan Market all weekend long. šŸ¤

A new kind of Cozy Cottage friend is coming to the Paragould Farmers' Market this weekend. šŸ¤

These Adventure Pals were made to come with you.

Each one is finished with a removable wire ring, making it easy to add to your favorite bag, your keys, or wherever you could use a tiny companion throughout the day.

And if one day you’d rather keep them on a shelf instead, simply unscrew the ring and you’ve got a tiny plush friend waiting at home.

Styles and colors are limited this week, so come early to make sure the friend you’ve got your eyes on makes it home with you.

Which one would you take along first? šŸšŸøšŸ¦ŠšŸ

Saturday morning prep looks a little different this morning.

Missing all of our market friends, but excited to celebrate Penny’s 13th birthday with her friends today.

Even though we aren’t there, Paragould Farmers' Market is home to so many amazing farms, artisans, and bakers. Stop by and see all of our friends for some great items to add to your Father’s Day celebrations this weekend.

See y’all next weekend with new friends looking for their forever homes.

And just like that, the little girl behind my market booth grew up. 🄺

So many of you have watched Penny grow up running around my booth every summer at the farmers market, then watching her run her own for a few seasons. This week she turned 13. Which is crazy because it feels like I was just 13.

The plan on Monday was to still do the farmers’ market Saturday morning and come home to finish decorating before her party at 4. After being stung by a wasp walking barefoot in the yard and then rolling the ankle on that same foot a couple hours later, on top of other ankle/foot pain this week, James benched me and said I have to stay home to rest it. šŸ’”

I’ll see y’all next weekend. I’ve been hard at work on new product this week and I can’t wait for you to see them.

Before they find their way to the Paragould Farmers' Market, Sweet T's Vintage & Artisan Market, or a new family, every Cozy Cottage friend begins right here.

Usually it starts with a ball of yarn, a pattern pulled up on my tablet, and a cup of coffee sitting somewhere within arm’s reach.

A few hours later, there’s a new bunny, duck, bear, or other friend looking back at me from my desk.

If you walked into the studio on any given day, you’d find dozens of little faces looking back at you, all waiting for their turn.

Waiting for a shelf at Sweet T’s. Waiting for a Saturday morning at the farmers market. Waiting for someone to stop, pick them up, and decide they belong together.

The bright yellow cat that makes somebody laugh.

The bunny chosen with care for new parents and the little one who will love it for years to come.

The duck that reminds someone of a cherished memory.

The friend that catches your eye for reasons you can’t quite explain.

Every one of them ends up somewhere different.

Different homes. Different families. Different stories.

For now, though, they’re still here in the studio, waiting patiently for their turn and the next chapter of their story. šŸ¤Ž

Before the first customer arrives, a dozen tiny animals are already waiting to be adopted. šŸ§øšŸ¤

The sky is putting on a show this morning, the coffee is still hot (thanks insulated cup šŸ™ŒšŸ») and downtown is just starting to wake up.

The tables are set, the shelves are stocked, and this week’s newest addition is a stack of adoption certificates waiting beside all the bunnies, ducks, bears, chickens, and other friends looking for homes.

I only ordered a small batch to see what everyone thinks, but I’m pretty excited about them. šŸ˜

There’s something sweet about making an adoption official.

A friend gets a name. A certificate gets signed. And suddenly that little bunny, duck, or bear isn’t just sitting on a shelf anymore. They belong to someone. Every friend goes home to a different story, a different family, and a different place to belong.

And that’s the best part of my job. 🄰

If you’re headed to the market this morning, be sure to stop by and say hello. The Cozy Cottage is all set up under the pavilion, and the animals are ready to meet their future families.

If I’m not in the studio, and the Arkansas humidity isn’t trying to suffocate me, this is where you’ll find me. 🪓

Gardening in 2026 looks a lot different from how my great-grandparents did it 100 years ago. Farming and gardening are in my blood. It’s what my family did for generations. Even when they moved to St. Louis for work, they kept flower beds and vegetable gardens. Some of my earliest memories with them were in their gardens, covered in dirt, picking vegetables and flowers.

Every home we’ve lived in has had a vegetable garden and flowers. And while wildflowers may be my flowers of choice compared to my grandma’s hydrangeas and peonies, moments spent here remind me of them.

This little garden sits beside my studio, and more often than not, it’s where I go when I need to step away from a project, untangle a problem, or take a few minutes for myself at the end of a long day. The flowers change from season to season, but the feeling never really does.

So much of what I create in the studio is rooted in the same things I find here in the garden: slow mornings, changing seasons, growing things, and the memories attached to them.

My life looks different than theirs did. I homeschool my girls, run a handmade business, and spend more time behind a computer than any of them ever imagined. But when I’m pulling weeds, picking flowers, or checking on vegetables before the sun gets too high, I don’t feel quite so far removed from them.

Every season, when the flowers start blooming and the vegetables start producing, I’m reminded that some things don’t really change. A century later, we’re still putting our hands in the same soil and finding joy in watching something grow.
