I know what it’s like to love a baby the world never got to meet.

Seven times, I saw those two lines and allowed my heart to hope. Seven times, I imagined what could be. And seven times, I had to say goodbye far too soon.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, but for those of us who have experienced loss, remembering isn’t limited to one month.

This month I’m remembering my seven and holding close every woman who carries a little life in her heart that she couldn’t carry home.

Waiting is one of the hardest seasons because we rarely understand what God is doing while we’re living through it.

But looking back, so many of us can see that His delays were preparing us for something we never could have planned ourselves.
