We've created this helpful pants fitting resource for you based on one of our most popular blog posts. Here's a post on how to make a crinoline skirt or dress from EHOW.com that might interest you. It has a photo tutorial along with step by step description.

If I'm extending a slip hem with a crinoline ruffle, I personally prefer to add a soft silk tulle layer between my skin and the stiff crinoline layers, so it doesn't scratch or create an itch on my legs. Another option I consider is sewing the crinoline layers on top of the slip mid way down the slip length.

I interrupted my scheduled sewing projects last week to do something I’ve wanted to do for some time: participate in the Project Run & Play Sew Along. However, I wasn’t able to finish my project in time to be included in the sew along/contest. :-(

Whenever I want to make an outfit with an expensive fabric, I first create a muslin garment from the pattern. It assures me of a better fit. I use basting stitches, so it doesn't take a lot of time to create and it gives me confidence when I start working with my precious fabric.
