Growth and Gratitude.
February 1st cemented 14 years of bridal gown dream making complete. And it wouldn’t be a Stacy “birthday month” if I didn’t celebrate all month long … so staying true to me…I gave myself 28 days to enjoy these 14 years of The Gown Shop Bridal. Today, 2/13/25, on my birthday…I announce my bridal “retirement” (for now) and bring my TGS bridal chapter to a close.
Two more weeks within the glittered “pixie dust” and chic black and white striped walls of bridal boutique dress dreams to make. Appointments are limited and all sample gowns are marked down to $999 or below, along with 50% or more off all bridal accessories.
This end of an era decision did not come easily and is incredibly bittersweet. I opened the doors to The Gown Shop Bridal on the cusp of my 25th birthday in 2011 in Ann Arbor, expanded, expanded some more into a second location (now home base to TGS), down sized by selling my Michigan boutique … have been blessed with some of the absolute BEST rockstar employees and stylists in 14 years … welcomed my son almost 3 years ago as a single/solo Mama and life has just pulled me in a million different directions since then. I have experienced a heartache that challenged every part of my being, and created a fire in me that still is burning to carve out justice for myself and for so many others. Most importantly, time with my precious son has been strained with needed focus of business hours in evenings and weekends in the retail world of bridal. And if you know me, or worked with me … you know that working WITH a during her appointment is by far my favorite part of my work. Therefore, something has to give … and for now it’s my dedication to my business. I wanted to be a Mom for as long as I can remember, and like so many working Mama’s the guilt of thinking you’re not present enough whether it be physically or mentally can take an immense toll on oneself. My son will always be my number 1 and as a solo Mama, my next path is not yet paved … but I am both excited for my future, and more importantly the future of 202 Louisiana Avenue here in northwest Ohio!
