Behind the scenes moment from the design desk:

If you’ve been following us for a while, you know we love experimenting with colors. Seeing a new shade come off the production line is easily one of the best parts of this job. But as a designer, reality hits when you look at the numbers: Black is, and likely always will be, the undisputed best seller.

We often get incredible feedback and vocal demand for specific colors from our community. We love hearing your ideas, but the brutal reality on our end is that vocal interest doesn't always translate into actual sales—and every new color drop is a massive risk when we can’t predict how it will perform.

Maintaining a massive catalog of permanent colors creates huge production and budgeting headaches.

So, to keep bringing fresh energy to the lineup while keeping operations sustainable, we are making a shift:

Starting now, most of our special colorways will transition to a Limited Edition / Limited Quota basis. When a special color drops, we’ll produce 1 or 2 set batches. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.*

So pretty much anything not black or grey will be in the limited quantity/edition category.

An Important Fabric & Product Update: The raw cost of the Alpine fabric has risen significantly and it would force us to raise prices beyond what's affordable or sustainable to operate. So it will be a while until we can bring back the Dragonfly and new Firefly VF2 in Alpine.

Once we run out of DV2s and Nemesis in Alpine, they also will not return.

Our classic core colors aren't going anywhere, but if you see a unique drop you love, you’ll want to grab it before the quota runs out.

On the brighter side of things, we are trying to work directly with textile factories and create our own colors with our own color codes (shown above).

Nonetheless, as a brand we love doing colors, but we just have to approach it differently.

Thank you for supporting the process, the transparency, and the journey.

There was never one moment where I decided to leave athletic training. It started with a simple question: What if?

After seven years working in the traditional setting as a high school and collegiate athletic trainer, I loved what I did. Those experiences shaped me into the clinician I am today, but after years of long hours and more than 170 game days a year, I started wondering: What if I took everything athletic training had taught me and built something of my own?

That question became real after I helped rehabilitate a former athlete over FaceTime while he was playing professional basketball overseas. We solved a problem that previous in-person therapy hadn't, and his response was simple: "You should do this for more people."

Another moment that confirmed this vision came after working remotely with a professional soccer player. When he came to town for an in-person session, he gave me his jersey after his game as a thank you for the impact our work had made. That was when I realized this could truly become something.

Building CD Elite Sports Rehab wasn't easy. I spent nights and weekends growing a private practice while still working full-time as an athletic trainer. But a year and a half after that first "what if," I was able to step into private practice and work with athletes across all levels.

I realized our profession becomes even stronger when we learn from each other. That's why I created the CD Elite Athletic Trainer Hub, an online community for athletic trainers to ask questions, share ideas, grow their clinical knowledge, and push each other toward excellence. When we improve as clinicians, every athlete and patient benefits.

Athletic training gives us an incredible skill set, and we have the ability to create our own paths in sports medicine. The route may not always be traditional, and it may not always be easy, but if you're willing to try, continue learning, and chase excellence, the possibilities are endless.

I owe everything I've built to the profession of athletic training, and I hope my story encourages other ATs to ask themselves the same question that changed my life:

What if?

ReKalibrate started from a simple idea: helping people move better, stay active and build confidence in their bodies. I’ve always been passionate about sports therapy, S&C and performance, which is why I’m continuing my journey studying physiotherapy alongside my work.

No two days are ever the same. Whether I’m treating injuries, supporting athletes pitch-side, running fun and engaging warm-ups with teams or guiding someone through rehab, I love helping people get back to doing what they enjoy. A big part of my approach is education — helping people understand why they’re in pain, how their body works and how they can build sustainable habits to prevent future injuries.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities to work with athletes and professional players from all over the world. The most rewarding part is seeing someone smile when they return to play, move confidently again and get back to doing what they love. With every athlete I meet and every challenge I take on, ReKalibrate continues to grow, and I’m excited for where this journey will lead.

Happy Friday everyone!
“I had gotten a call to report to men’s volleyball practice because an athlete “got his braces caught in the net”. When I arrived, he was in my ATR trying to clean up blood from his mouth, so i took over getting him cleaned up. When i asked him what happened , he claimed to have been running under the net and did not duck low enough. The net caught on his front teeth as he continued to run and he essentially clotheslined himself by his mouth. p! Was 2/10 (im sure due to shock), but obvious deformity of the teeth, maxilla and pallete.
We activated EMS and were able to get in contact with a dentist that referred athlete and parents to proper care. Now, 2 months later, his braces have been removed and he has a brand new smile now 😂”

What mouth injuries have you seen ??

The AT and the Ouch Pouch patches have been our undisputed best-sellers since we first started making patches.

But, we know many of you have noticed a lack of restocks lately, and we want to be completely transparent with you. We’ve been navigating some really frustrating supplier delays that have been out of our control.

We truly apologize for any hassle this has caused with getting your hands on these favorites.

Instead of just restocking the same designs, we are going to make a clean break for a new generation. We are completely redesigning both patches with fresh new ideas, more colorways, and new themes.

This is where you come in. We don't just guess what's cool. We’re opening this up to our community for feedback!

In our Product Development Group we’re going to be dropping ideas and concepts for your take.

We’re making this a true community effort. We know we won't make everyone perfectly satisfied, but we’re striving to make most people pretty happy.

Our goal is to ensure Nexus always does great patches, just like we’ve done from the very beginning. The new generation is coming.

Stay tuned!
