It’s crazy how one little project can bring a lot of feels out.

Life changes unfortunately and sometimes traditions get forgotten. This guy brings out the Nostalgia for me.
See, I purchased him several years ago because I liked him but I was never brave enough to stitch him. I saved him for “some day”.”Someday when I’m good enough”. This is a different style of embroidery that is not forgiving, not a single stitch. Today, as I passed over him, something made me go back. I clicked on his image, sat admiring him once again and suddenly I could hear the laughter from myself as a child, all of those traditions replayed in my mind. I loaded him in the machine and like the elves in the work shop, I went to work. Wiping tears from time to time. Tears of self pride and accomplishment and just the emotion Christmas brings for me. This is a gift and I hope that this gives them the same it’s given me.

My takeaway from this……don’t let fear stand in the way. Try new things. Put yourself out there.

And of course this also comes with a little PSA to the guys/husbands…..When wifey says “that’s a decorative towel”. It might be a good idea to listen. 🫣
