Jewelry By Jamaica I design wood and gemstone jewelry with an emphasis on bracelets. The importance of having jewelry that is the right fit is my main focus.

I also design and collaborate with Musicians and Clothing Brands to create wholesale jewelry for their brands. I have been making jewelry since 2009. When I first started making jewelry it was for a mission's trip for girls in Africa. Now I've continued in my craft to become a full fledged business owner. I truly love making jewelry and I'm excited to see how far it takes me. I love to design and create, and it's an amazing feeling to have a vision for something and then see it come to life.

There are moments in business that remind you why you started.

This was one of them.

Knowing someone trusted me to create a custom piece, then hearing it exceeded their expectations, is something I never want to take for granted.

Every bracelet, necklace, or custom design carries more than gemstones and metal—it carries trust. I don’t overlook that for a second.

I’ve started and stopped this jewelry business more times than I’d like to admit, but the thing that keeps bringing me back to it is my family.

Sometimes it’s hard to believe in something until you see it. My journey as a jewelry designer and entrepreneur is showing them that you can go against the grain and change the trajectory of your life.

Every day is not sunshine and roses and I cannot only show you the highlight reel of my life because it’s not realistic.

I made some coffee, put on a movie that both my kids like, but it was one my daughter chose.

With my sons morning routine, change is always the enemy. This the meltdown this morning. I’m still learning to navigate how to help him. It’s rough for everyone. After having some space, he calmed down and was able to watch the movie along with his sister.

It threw my day off a little bit, as well as my nervous system, but I’m working at getting everything recenter.

Love my son with my whole heart, and just trying to do my best.

So many emotions with this bracelet, but the end result is amazing. Not the length I need for my current client, but that gives someone else the opportunity to add this to their collection.

I’m going to make more bracelets with the matte finish because it’s absolutely gorgeous.

It’s not very often that I come across a strand of beads that excite me initially and then leave me disappointed as I start to work with them.

Oh the emotional roller coaster of a jewelry designer. At this point I’ve almost thrown away as many beads as it takes to make one bracelet.

I was definitely looking forward to using all of these beads instead of only being able to use half.

I was recording some jewelry content in my office/basement when all of a sudden I heard a laugh from upstairs.

My son, who has autism, has the greatest laugh ever. He laughs with his entire being. I mention his autism because he hasn’t always had words but he’s always had his laugh. It’s authentic and genuine and I will gladly be “interrupted” any time he decides to laugh while I’m working.

March 30, 2018 is the day I sold 1,000 orders.

Was I excited?

Yes

Did the moment last?

No

Number one lesson learned over the years. Be proud of where you’re at and what you’ve accomplished instead of being a self critic and ruining the moment.

Every day is a new day to put forth the effort and accessorize. Today it was a 6mm Howlite gemstone bracelet.

It matched with the shirt and boom. I made it work. Minimal effort with a maximum outcome.
