Susie draws a recurring character she calls "the bad boss" and he has a top hat and a sh*t-eating grin and he whispers terrible things.

I wanted to draw him too.

Obviously, I hate that this guy has a home in her mental landscape, but I love that she can draw him and label which messages came from him (raise your hand if your age has two digits and your internal self talk is kind of a mystery ๐Ÿ˜…).

What I like best is that she draws this guy first, but then all around him, she draws her team. The good boss, and her messages, a team of worriers that hang out in her belly, her family, therapists, and teachers.

Last night we talked about adding a trickster, who knows how to deal with unfair stuff in scrappy ways. I'm really looking forward to drawing that guy.

How many Classic LBD sweaters have YOU knit? I think the record is tied at four... Let me know if you can beat that!

Designed with lightweight plant blends in mind, Classic LBD is knitting's version of a little black dress. Every knitter can use a perfectly-fitting everyday raglan tee!

This seamless, top-down pattern includes all the size-inclusive fit features you're looking for:

๐Ÿ™Œ Optional hip shaping
๐Ÿ™Œ Optional bust darts
๐Ÿ™Œ Compound shaping
๐Ÿ™Œ Schematic and pattern info BEFORE you buy

My sample is a v-neck, but that's not for everyone. So we added a crew neck addendum you can swap out.

This spring, we will also be adding a long sleeve option. Sure, you can figure it out yourself. But it sure is nice to have someone do that for you and tell you the yardage without having to buy a separate pattern! Anyone who buys the pattern now, during our annual sale, will of course get that pattern update when it goes live :)

Right now, our entire catalogue of patterns is on sale for 20% off using the code HAPPYUNBIRTHDAY. You can find links to shop Ravelry or our website in my bio and stories!

I've been saving for this new business tool for months, and here she is! (Thank you Kofi members!)

For a long time, I've wanted to have real, tangible examples of the fit issues we talk about. But hell if I want to knit a bunch of ill-fitting sweaters in my size ๐Ÿ˜…

This half-scale dress form is my solution. And spoilers? There was a fat tax - the size 16 was almost twice as expensive as the "straight sized" forms. I didn't buy one earlier because I couldn't justify the extra expense, and I couldn't see myself showing up to teach with a tool so far below the national average as to be unrelatable to most of us.

Anyway, I hope you are also enjoying a peaceful afternoon, closing down your year with whatever feels most nourishing to you!

This is my just for funsies quilt, out of linen that won't hold up very long, and with a scattering of quilt motifs (one of which I already hate!)

It's been fun to play, to have a "no picking out" policy, to be able to mix and match. I can see so many things I want to explore, including how I might layer in additional texture with applique, fabric types, and glossy embroidery and matte sashiko thread.

I have lots of "hobbies I mess around with to take a break from my primary hobby" - what are yours?

"We published the glow-up of Sunup on 82nd right as we were entering spring," I said. "She needs her moment in the sun now that it's sweater season!"

Dear reader, it is 81 degrees today. That moment in the sun ain't happening this week ๐Ÿ˜‚

Anyway, happy Halloween from me and my sneak peek of my WIP and my real-life setup complete with impromptu plywood coffee table ๐Ÿ‘€ Me and R2D2 will be walking the neighborhood and handing out candy and very much grateful for the last warmth of fall! ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽƒ

I'm not going to Rhinebeck, I expected FOMO.

It's just... not there. In fact, I feel overwhelming relief. I wrote about this in my newsletter this week (want a reminder when we share it to articles)?

I got a great email response from who signed off, "have a great third weekend in October!"

I plan to use the weekend to do all the things that are the opposite that stress me out about Rhinebeck, although I haven't made a plan yet.

Should I cast something on?

Should I paint?

Go for a hike?

Organize my embroidery floss (๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ)

Got any suggestions for me?

(This is Plusses, and I've been going too hard recently, so I treated myself to working from bed in my jams yesterday)

I hope that if you love the weekend you get to go, and that if you don't adore it you get to stay home in your PJs and favorite sweater with coffee that doesn't taste like plastic โ˜•

So, let's hear what you'll all be up to and your ideas on what I should do!
