There are some people who feel larger than life… and our Pappy Thurby was one of them. When you are lucky enough to be incredibly close to your family, you feel the distance from Heaven to Earth in a way that words can’t explain when they leave us. Our Pappy was one of a kind, a highly respected business man, a storyteller, a hunter, a fisherman, an animal lover, the kind of person who quietly changed lives without ever asking for recognition. He built a beautiful life, one filled with so much to be proud of, yet we truly believe his greatest accomplishment was the family he built alongside our Nanny. He loved us with his whole heart, and one of the greatest gifts he ever gave us was making sure we always knew just how deeply loved we were.🫶🏼

Some of our favorite memories will forever be the simple things… holidays around the table, stories we’ve heard a hundred times but would give anything to hear again, walks and drives in Elk County, laughs, summers, traditions, and just being together. They’re the kind of memories you don’t realize are the good old days until one day, they are.

But we know our Pappy is in Heaven. We know he is walking strong again, hunting and fishing on Heaven’s game lands. We know he and Nanny are finally reunited (side by side like they were always meant to be) with a nice piece of land full of all the animals they ever loved. And we know without a doubt there had to be the sweetest reunion when his beloved Sable ran straight into his arms the moment he arrived.🐶🥹

We miss you more than words can say, Pappy. But what a blessing it is to love someone so much that even Heaven feels so far away. We are so very proud to be your granddaughters and to carry you with us in all the little ways that we are like you. We are forever grateful to be a part of your legacy, to be Thurbys.❤️ See you there, Pappy.🙏🏼

We had the sweetest girls’ night out at Soergel Orchards Galentine’s Night!💐💕👯‍♀️ Every detail felt thoughtfully curated, from the cozy after-hours atmosphere to the beautiful bloom bar and the most welcoming team. The food was incredible, and we are so grateful for the extra care they took creating GF/DF options just for Kait. It truly made the night even more special. 🫶🏼✨ What we’ll remember most, though, is the kindness behind it all. We met the loveliest people— Lillie, Amy, Kevin, Jenna— and so many others who went above and beyond to make the evening feel personal, relaxed, and unforgettable.🫶🏼 Soergels was absolutely worth the trip again and it’s safe to say, we’ll be back for another visit very soon.🙌🏼 More photos and our video recap coming soon… stay tuned. 💌
