Can you tell which of these images is a photo and which is a 3D render? 🤔
Trick question—both were constructed in Blender from 3D scanned objects! We built these scenes using five pieces of leftover holiday candy, a gift box, and a mug. Want to try making your own? Head over to our Sketchfab page to download some of the assets used here ( https://sketchfab.com/arkify )!

Our latest Blender render showcases our team's ability to capture textural detail in small objects! Intricate flowers can often be difficult to scan but these Billy Ball flowers weren't an issue.💐🔍
Paired with this cardboard gift box, these two scans made a fantastic scene in minutes using individual hand-picked assets from the real world.

Have you read our latest blog on the 3D scanning to 3D printing workflow for sculptural artists? 🤔💭 3D scanning your artwork will not only digitally preserve it, but also make it possible to quickly replicate it many times over to sell to your patrons! 🥳

In this blog, we'll be walking you through the basic workflow from taking a freshly made sculpture from 3D scanning to 3D printing.

Have you read our latest blog on our photo texturing service? 📷 🎨
In addition to standard 3D scanning and texturing, we offer an additional service to give your scans brighter, crisper textures using photogrammetry.
To see the difference take a look at our texture comparison example—pictured left is a 3D scan with a standard 8K texture and pictured right is a 3D scan with an 8K photo texture. While the standard texture is great on its own, the enhanced photo texture gives the scan a higher degree of depth and realism. Interested in learning more about the process? Head over to our website to read our most recent blog "Adding Enhanced Texture To 3D Scans With Photogrammetry!" 😄

Here are a couple of quick screenshots from our recent blog on how easy it is to customize your designs by swapping in and out individually scanned parts! In this example, we scanned two different socks and shoelaces separately, allowing us to use them in different combinations simply by importing them into Blender and quickly placing them where we want on our base shoe. 👟🔍

With 3D scanning, it's easy to build an entire library of parts for you to mix and match on your designs, allowing you to see endless potential combinations in a fraction of the time it would take to model each one from scratch! 🙌

We scanned these puzzle pieces individually and then pieced them together in Blender! 🧩 A common use case for 3D scanning is capturing small everyday objects like puzzle pieces and paperclips to turn into large sculptures. Once the model is created, sculptures can be made by either directly 3D printing them or creating a mold from the scan to cast them from. And since 3D scans are easy to scale, small objects can be blown up hundreds of times in size without losing any of those fine details from the original scan!

Check out our two most recent 3D scan examples! 🧤🧽✨

The rubber gloves are an excellent example of our team's ability to pose and capture apparel items (one of our specialties), while the sponge showcases our ability to scan highly detailed surfaces. While these two subjects are unrelated, we thought the theme fit together too well to post them separately. 😂

We have a couple new example scans up on Sketchfab! The Lithops (pictured first) were processed at 0.3mm resolution and the Christmas Cactus at 0.4mm. Both were given an 8K texture to more accurately match the plant's real hue.

Plants are always a fun challenge to scan and the details can come out great for a render or archive! Check out both at the links below to view the scans in 3D. 🌵

🔍 Mini Scan! 🔍 Our team tested the capabilities of our scanner yesterday by capturing the tiny ridges of these 0.6" X 0.7" Oatmeal Squares. Scanning smaller objects such as fasteners and mechanical components can often be difficult, but tests like this let us know our team is capable of capturing them. 👍

After scanning the individual cereal pieces, we couldn't help throwing together a quick render of them in a bowl. 😂 Interested in making your own breakfast render? Head over to our Sketchfab page to download the Oatmeal Squares 3D scan (https://skfb.ly/ozqSA)!
