Fuzz Imp: and who is this guy? My name is Justus and I’ve been an avid gear nerd and guitarist since the early 2000s.

What appealed to me right away was the use of effects and dialing in sounds. Making the sounds in my head come out of the guitar and eliminating as much friction as possible in this endeavor.

So What is Fuzz Imp? It’s a pedal company focused on making the best quality hardware for modern players to have sets of real tangible tools to create their own signature sounds.

I played a lot of different technology and plugins and modelers and those are fantastic devices. But it can quickly turn into using someone else’s preset and being uninspired. Fuzz Imp is all about bringing a set of tools to the table capable of shaping your own presets. And you have a real world device in front of you to find and discover those sounds for yourself.

Fuzz Imp Shroot II v2:

Shroot II was the most popular Fuzz Imp model for quite some time. When it was launched it had 5 k***s, the bottom row had a 2 band EQ with a subtle low end control as well as a high mid boost or cut.

V2 takes the next generation PCB and adds in an active low mid control around 200hz, an area pretty key to dialing in high gain guitars. Cutting a bit adds a ton of clarity, boosting it adds a lot of warmth.

Same classic look, updated range and capabilities and even better noise floor.

Echo Moon as it was meant to be used. It’s an unusual delay but super useful in the right context. Like all Fuzz Imp pedals it stacks well and is used to build a big sound!

New Rig Demo. Stacking a combination of Fuzz Imp Bongfire, Furia, Amity and the ThisHeavyEarth Oathless I can get so many tones. Loving the Devin Townsend Ocean Machine delays. It’s a cool setup. Now I’m using the cab sim out blended with the actual Mic for a richer sound. It’s quite good! 😌

The Amity does a lot. Been experimenting with it as a placeholder preamp paired with the Seymour Duncan Powerstage 200. It has a powerful sound with a 412 and a mic on it (as shown)
