Green is my favorite color. Green is where calm and liveliness co-exist with a mega-dose of positivity. From the palest pistachio to the darkest forest green, there is no shade unwanted. The sound of the word itself is ever more encouraging. There is no waste in every aspect of green. My first fond memory of the color green is my favorite green pull-over hoodie in preschool. I spilled ice cream on it and panicked about the slight chance of ruining it rather than losing my favorite treat. Sometimes I wonder if the love for that hooded sweater sparked my dear love for the color green or if it’s the other way around. I couldn’t get enough of that sweater. I don’t know where that sweater ended up, but now I have other green things that keep me constantly content. The excitement of our first house, the questionable drawers my then-fiancé insisted on tossing transformed magically into a superb furniture piece with a coat of green paint, the bosky evergreens of my second home Portland, and last but not least, my cherished emerald rings. For me, there are no memories, shades, or anything at all to be spared about this most beautiful color. I know I will never keep myself short of this shade, yet, I still can’t get enough of it.
