Popping on to say lots of work is happening BTS - including some exciting new colors of overdye. I've tested overdying the vintage desert camo, too, and it's 👌

Overdying vintage textiles is always a crap shoot. You never know how dye will react to years of use. Sometimes it covers the signs of age, sometimes it amplifies it.

What colors would you like to see this season?

I feel like the Man Ray sculpture of an iron with tacks running down the center is the story of my life. Ironing is at least 1/3 of sewing clothes.

I'm not getting as much work done lately as I'd like to and suspect it has a little bit to do with this app (surprise, surprise). So, I'm going to Brick my phone for a few days, maybe a week, and see how much time I can gain back for the things I want to prioritize. Namely, get cracking on this spring drop.

If you need to reach me for product or order related information, please email me at SAINTCLAIRSSCISSORS at gmail dot com.

See you soon! Love yourself!

Have you watched the Jeff Buckley documentary yet? Heartbreaking. I remember that sad day so clearly. It was like the voice of an angel left us. Anyway, if you really want to irritate and confuse your pr***en, play the Grace album at volume while crying over taco prep. 🥴😂

I'm digging this stripe colorway option for the Soft Power Pant in vintage surplus tri-desert camo ripstop. It's white and a dark tealy-blue with a thin grey and peachy stripe.

There are made-to-order options for Soft Power Pants in military surplus, or secondhand fabrics, as well as 3x recycled denim. You get to choose from available stripe options (or no stripes), sizing, and some other options like, cropped or size-combing. EG you want a baggier size but need the waist adjusted smaller. I'm 5'3" with a 30" waist and 39" hip at the moment. I'm wearing a size C (medium) here.

Creating a luxury garment out of vintage materials is a labor of love. Countless hours are spent in sourcing, cleaning, and repairing. Each piece is cut from the perspective of perfect placement of components to maximize material beauty. There is no economy of scale. Each textile calls upon the creator to be treated individually. Once you understand this, it's not surprising that the textiles that are the most loved - require the most repair - result in a more expensive garment due to the hours of labor involved.

And let's not avoid something uncomfortable. Couture, luxury, and fast fashion brands are all trying to mimic this aesthetic through questionable labor and material practices. They are making new materials that look like your granny's curtains - they are trying to pull on the symbols of heritage and artistry for the highest profit margin. They are only mimics of the care, effort, and time (women) put into crafting these historic hand-embroidered textiles. On this season's runways, we even saw brands distressing fabrics to look like they had age spots and stains in a bid for legacy beyond trends.

Many of these brands are selling mass-produced items at prices more than, or equivalent to, what small upcyclers are doing with the original materials these brands are trying to emulate.

And not all upcycled clothing is the same. There's lots of crappy stuff out there, shoddily made. I'm not talking about that.

So if you are going to spend the money, which would you rather have? The one-of-a-kind piece made from materials of true timeless craftsmanship, or the piece copying that look through mass production?

Lots of new faces here and a flurry of DMs about available pieces, so it felt like a good time to re-clarify what's what.

First, thank you for being here! I am a one-woman brand - everything you see has been hand made by me in my home studio. All the textiles I use are vintage (or even antique). Usually I am re-purposing a textile that first lived its life as something else, like a bedspread or tablecloth. This means most things are one-of-a-kind. I do my best to offer similar styles in a range of sizes. There are some items that can be made-to-order in XS-2XL. These are mostly my Soft Power Pant style (a pull-on barrel shaped pant) in a couple of textile options I have bulk access to.

I do 3-4 larger seasonal drops of things, and if you're on my mailing list, I try to give the list a few hours heads-up. I'm sorry I'm not more savvy than that, but I also do all the website stuff and I don't have the time/funds to figure out something better.

Occasionally I'll post a one-off for sale here on
IG. What's currently available to purchase is on my website, so please check there first.

Finally, yes! - there will be more vintage lace pants and embroidered vintage linen shirts and shirt dresses coming in the spring. I'm working on spring and summer now. So, sign up for the mailing list. 😘

I had to share these pants I just finished for an order. These are the Soft Power Pants in (get ready for the adjectives) vintage deadstock surplus tri-desert camo ripstop. Got all that? Oh! Plus a track stripe. This is one of the current stripe options you can choose from. It's nice and wide and the mustard/pink/maroon/cream/black is just perfect on this fabric.

These are a size larger than the size I would pick according to the size chart - this shows you what I mean when I say "size up for a baggier fit." I love them with this bigger fit. I can always make the elastic length the size down, too. We can tawk about it.😘

Swipe for a little in-motion video.

The SPP has an elastic waist with sewn-down pleats in the front, side seam pockets and a soft, barrel leg.

Made to order, babes, while fabric lasts!

I'm beginning the long, slow process of organizing and cleaning the textiles I use for spring and summer - vintage linens with handmade lace and embroidery and different types of vintage lace.

There have definitely been some fan favorites in seasons past - but there's also been things I've really loved that haven't moved so well.

What do you want to see more of? I'd love feedback while I plan!

- Shirtdresses
- Quilt shorts
- Overdyed linen
- Oversized tees
- Tee-shirt dresses
- Oversized Camp shirts
- Camis
- Lace skirts
- Wide-leg lace pants
- Bubble lace pants
- More track stripes?

Everyday is a chance to experience the fullness of your life. Such a gift. And it's hard to be an empathetic human, a compassionate human, a sensitive human being in this world right now. So here I am, a flawed spirit in flesh form. I put on clothes, I shop for groceries, I care for my family, I walk the dogs, I keep on creating.

Today, I joined in community to dance with others, and quietly weep during the slow songs. Thank you and

I treated myself to a coffee at and drank it in the crisp sunlight.

Then I went and bought my soon-to-be-12-year-old a used base guitar and amp for his birthday.

After that, I bought a beautiful rye bread and pastries from my local bakery pop-up

Finally, about 2 PM, I opened my phone.

It's hard to hold onto kindness and humanity while being filled with rage at the cruelness and greed playing out before us.

I see you, Minneapolis. Stand strong, and thank you. If you voted for this administration and are not sorry for your mistake by now, then kindly see yourself out.
