What a fun filled weekend it was with the Oregon disc golf community! Competitors battled through the rain, sun, snow, fierce winds, bone chilling cold and hail. Despite the weather rollercoaster ride, an abundance of smiles were still to be found. I can’t thank you all enough for the positive vibes, kind words and laughter all weekend.

Hacking Thru Hornings presented by Top Flight Disc Golf is a PDGA-sanctioned disc golf tournament in North Plains, Oregon beginning April 1, 2023 and hosted by Top Flight Disc Golf.

What a beautiful day it was for our annual 3, 2, 1 tournament! We loved seeing so many smiles and laughter! We played a doubles format with allowing each competitor to have 3 discs per round. They could use their partner’s discs, but both partners couldn’t use the same disc in the same shot. We played 2 rounds at Buxton Woods (which is a phenomenal place ran by an amazing family and you should certainly check it out if you haven’t yet) and there were some brillant scores posted out there today. No team could touch and fire 🔥 scores of -12 both rounds!! Thank you .strandbuxtonwoods for providing such an amazing atmosphere for people to enjoy! We can’t wait to see all of those smiles again at our next event!

If you haven’t heard, we are partnering with this summer to join in on their adventure camp staff, infrastructure, and use their expertise as a vehicle to offer amazing disc golf content for kids! In the mornings the kids will have a chance to have small group instruction on disc golf technique and instruction as well as getting cool disc golf gear! In the afternoon the kids will take to the river for their classic river adventure experience resplendent in crawdad claws, shiny rocks and cottonwood fluff!

We will be meeting at Grant Park for transport via school bus to Milo McIver, Dabney and more. All of the camps will run Monday-Friday from 8 am- 3:30 pm with an optional after camp until 6 pm.

The Top Flight Squad did some solid work this weekend! Chris Nelson has been strong this season with making some wake on the pro tour and now taking down the Oregon Open against amazing competition! He shot -11 on Saturday in some nasty weather and then -7 on Sunday to end the weekend at -18 at Milo! Daniel Kitchens played very consistent on the weekend with shooting -1 each day to be tied for 15th! Zach Todd took the roller coaster ride for the weekend by shooting a +5 on Saturday and then a -6 on Sunday, which put him back in the cash line. Great job Chris, Daniel and Zach!

Congrats to all of our top three finishers in each division from the Hacking Thru Hornings event! It was awesome seeing all of those smiles out there! All script payouts to ams have gone out.
