There really is nothing sweeter than a baby asleep on your chest. Contact naps can absolutely be part of life with a baby. 💕🥹

The most important piece: the adult holding baby needs to be awake and alert. If you feel yourself getting sleepy, baby needs to move to a safe sleep space.

And while we love a good contact nap, we also don’t want every nap to depend on being held.

When you can, aim to put baby down for a couple of naps each day in their regular sleep space. 💤

It gives them practice falling asleep there and helps build a consistent pattern they begin to recognize:

This is where I sleep. I know what happens next.
Some naps may happen in your arms. Some in the crib.

Some days will go beautifully and others absolutely will not.

That’s real life.

Consistency isn’t about doing something perfectly every single time. It’s about doing it often enough that it becomes familiar.

Separation anxiety, or what we like to call separation awareness, is such a normal part of growing. Your little one is learning that you can leave and that you always come back.

And while knowing that doesn’t necessarily make the tears easier, having a simple, consistent approach can help both of you feel a little more confident.

In our Separation Anxiety 101 blog, we’re talking through what this stage can look like, how to make goodbyes feel more predictable and why those everyday routines matter so much.

Because sometimes the best thing we can give our little ones is the confidence to know: You’re safe. You’re loved. And I’ll be back.

Read the full blog for our tips on navigating separation with confidence and consistency.

Toddler sleep regression can make bedtime a battle. One mom shares the controversial strategy that helped her 2½-year-old stay in bed and sleep through the night.

A mom was skeptical of this controversial toddler sleep advice. Six months later, her daughter sleeps through the night and stays in her room until morning.
