Survival is a season, not your identity…
Most people want to be strong enough to survive a life they don’t like.
Constant problems, endless bills, jobs they hate, a past they can’t escape, people they can’t stand, and an endless stream of bad news from social media is how they view the story of their life.
They are survivors, but they’re not surviving a war-torn country or the threat of starvation.
No, they’re just trying to survive a life lived in the greatest era of abundance known to man.
I know what you’re thinking…
“Yeah, for some that may be true, but not for me!”
Yes, it’s true for you too.
If we added up the little victories you’ve won in your life, it would reveal a different story.
And I’m not denying how bad things have been and how bad they might be right now.
My point is that the toughness you exercise every day to survive is more than enough to start building a life that more closely resembles the one you’ve always wanted.
It’s not circumstances that need to change; it’s you.
Because nothing is so powerful as a mind that’s filled with certainty.
Certainty? Yes!
Being certain of two things…
Certain there are principles and resources to get what you want.
Certain that you’re powerful enough to apply those principles.
And being powerFULL means being mentally tough, and you can start creating that toughness in two ways…
Start winning little battles each day.
Celebrating each victory.
When my kids were small, and we needed them to eat their vegetables, we made a big deal when they finally ate that piece of broccoli.
Why? Because celebrating little victories reinforces the right behaviors!
So, win some little battles today and high-five yourself.
Clean something. Put something away. Exercise. Pay a bill. Do something nice for someone.
Whatever it is, start getting a taste for small accomplishments and then increase them.
Your personal power is for more than just surviving another bad day.
Use that power to create something better for yourself.
