Carole Hollowell is an interiors designer based out of Raleigh, NC.

Carole Hollowell received a BS in Interior Design in 1992 and immediately began honing her design skills as a store and showroom designer for a major residential furniture manufacturer. Her extensive travel throughout the United States gave her the opportunity to design casual, contemporary, and traditional spaces.

It’s back to school season and we are excited for some of the ladies moving into the sorority houses that we have loved designing! Over the next few weeks we look forward to sharing some of our favorite spaces from the houses. Today we are featuring some dining room shots from the Alpha Delta Pi House at NCSU. We especially love the cozy cafe nook with the dramatic walls and banquets.

Happy June 1st! Today marks year #23 for Carole Hollowell Interiors and I am so very grateful for every amazing client, vendor, builder, and architect and others along the way! My husband and children can certainly share some stories of being dragged to construction sites, showrooms, fabric and antique shops, art galleries, and show houses all these years. They know that every vacation destination will involve some sort of a design detour. They would also say that they have seen the “non filtered, life is not instagram” side. But like many other small business owners, navigating a business through a major recession, a worldwide pandemic, and unprecedented supply chain issues, I have learned so very much and am extremely thankful to get to do what I love and meet amazing people along the way. Join our team… Carole Hollowell Interiors is hiring!! Our Interior Design firm, located in Raleigh, NC. , is hiring full-time for an Office/Operations’ Manager.
This position follows an organized process, managing daily studio responsibilities and project management.
Job Description:
•Purchasing, expediting and tracking orders
•managing vendor accounts and samples
•communicating with clients
•scheduling deliveries and overseeing installations
•maintaining digital files
•assisting bookkeeper in accounts receivable and accounts payable for client invoicing
Job Requirements:
•Bachelors Degree and 3-5 Years experience working in fast paced environment
•Adaptable to computer programs and project management software (Asana, Dropbox,Quickbooks,Harvest, Studio Designer )
•Experience in Studio Designer and familiarity with the Interior Design Industry is a plus
•Ability to handle a high volume of documents and a busy workload
•Takes initiative and works independently in a team setting
•Kind, honest, organized, hardworking and likes to have fun.

I don’t just see a beautiful chair! After sharing the highlights of the High Point Furniture Market last week, I wanted to share a bit about how I resource for my clients. My design background is deep rooted in NC Furniture manufacturing. I began my career after Design School in the Display Planning Department of a large manufacturer just outside of Morganton NC. What a dream job that was for a budding designer! For 5 years I traveled the US, Canada and Mexico to design showrooms large and small. I was involved in the building, planning and design of High Point showrooms, as well as product development for new furniture lines. I went to beautiful places and met the most amazing people in my travels, but it is what was happening in the factories all around the small towns of Western NC that amazed me the most. The people, true artisans, behind the scenes in the manufacturing plants creating beautiful furniture is unbelievable! We are so very fortunate to have this in NC. Every April and October people from all over the world ascend to High Point, our “Furniture Capital “… and the little town is a buzz for a week to show off the best of the best in home furnishings. I always support the made in NC and USA companies FIRST!! One if my very favorite NC furniture companies and maker of this particular chair, is Vanguard Furniture based out of Hickory, NC. is a family owned company started over 50 years ago. I have been buying their case goods and upholstery for my clients for over 15 years. Quality furniture and quality people! I try to keep it that simple…I only buy from great companies for great people. It truly is about the relationships for me and I love it! Over the years I continue to consult with furniture manufacturers for showroom design and product development. I have some very exciting collaborations in the works and I look forward to sharing soon. Xoxo Carole 💚

Happy Monday! My favorite room from our Kappa Kappa Gamma UVA project. Our goal when designing large sorority house projects is to make them feel more like a boutique hotel, creating several cozy spots.
