The Caring Clothes Closet is a local project designed to address the immediate needs of people in the Richmond, Virginia Metro Area by providing free clothing to families experiencing financial difficulties or crisis. If you are in need or know someone who is, please contact us by PM (Private Message)! Forward any needs, individual or those of an organization, and the needs will be met on a first

come, first serve basis based on the contents of the closet. New or gently used clothing of any gender, any size. We are always in need of new under garments and socks for kids of all ages! Thank you to the Ripple Effect Club at Collegiate Middle School for organizing a collection and packing bags filled with comfort items, activities, and necessities for Care Bags at the Caring Closet. These Care Bags will be shared with children transitioning into foster care, domestic violence shelters, and temporary housing programs. These hope-filled bags are sure to have a ripple effect on the lives of the children who receive them.

A heartfelt thank you as well to Liz Haske, a teacher at Collegiate, for donating copies of her award-winning book, When Worry Takes Hold. The book's powerful message and beautiful illustrations will bring comfort and encouragement to children experiencing challenging circumstances.

And a special thank you to Closet Factory for generously supplying the bags that made this project possible.

To our friends in Short Pump! For the month of June, we’re excited to offer a second drop-off location at the Hope House at Shady Grove UMC’s Pouncey Tract location.

If you're cleaning out closets or making room for summer, consider donating your new or gently used warm-weather clothing. We’re especially looking for casual clothing that is suitable for a school setting.

This donation opportunity is only through June 30, so don’t miss this chance to give. Simply drop your donations in the designated collection bin at the Hope House.

Sweet dreams start with a great pair of pajamas! Thanks to our local Bank of America team for collecting 200 new pairs of pajamas for children right here in our community!

Colorful pajamas may seem like a small thing, but they can bring comfort and a sense of normalcy to a child navigating challenging circumstances. These fun designs and bright colors help remind children that they are loved!

We are so grateful to Burns & McDonnell for organizing an incredible clothing drive in support of the Caring Closet!

Together, they collected more than 800 pairs of new socks, 125 new t-shirts, and countless clothing items for men, women, and children in our community. Though organized locally, this effort brought together multiple locations and partners, including Dominion Energy, to make a huge impact!
